ZOS, please clear bodies

I'm playing the Dark Brotherhood content right now and I am sick and tired of seeing bodies on the streets, what is wrong with the programmers in this game? How hard is it to edit the despawn rates so the bodies DISAPPEAR before the NPCs respawn. I just walked into a building and there are 2 bodies, and the same NPC has respawned. This is getting so pathetic. I've seen tons of other players constantly asking ZoS to fix this, for ages, and yet nothing's been done. How long do we have to wait till the devs do something about it? You know, this isn't a single player game, there are actually players who like to immerse themselves in the world and like to walk into a city that isn't unrealistically clogged with prone bodies >:( - @AefionBloodclaw

When I'm hangin around Auridon wayshrine there is sometimes 3 Jilarga corpses. It's broken, please fix this by making the corpse despawn as soon as the NPC respawns.

The reason why some of those corpses don't despawn is because they turn into containers which have items, usually treasures you can launder/sell to level up your Legerdemain. If people don't pick up those items, the corpses stick around.

Mind you, I have picked corpse clean and it immediately despawns it for me, while others report it sticks around for a little bit. I'm not sure the exact coding situation as to why some corpses take longer to despawn and others, but I'd bet real money it's tied to them being containers. Oblivion and Skyrim have similar issues.

I've noticed this as well- bodies sticking around even when you've picked them clean can sometimes happen if someone else has tried to pickpocket the NPC before you. For some reason, it will register as if they are also the owner of the corpse and there is loot for them on it as well. I noticed this when another player ran over after I had pick-pick-stabbed an NPC, and looted the body as well. The body was hanging around even after I'd picked it clean, and only disappeared after the other player looted the corpse too.

I have often thought that they should clear the dead bodies, looted or not, before the new NPC is spawned. I guess that is two separate timers, though.

Corpses need to be client side. If I don't see the npc anywhere, then it's safe to assume they're dead.

It can be a pain during events when they are world bosses. I try aiming my skills at the real boss who just spawns and nothing happens - dead body in the way. I have a feeling this could be why a lot of people complain they don't get loot/credit from bosses. They may not realise they are not actually hitting the real boss at all.

I remember one day I was came to Vulkehl Guard and by the wayshrine there were bodies laying all over, it was disgusting actually, and definitely ruined any bit of 'immersion'. Perhaps the respawn rate has to do with not rewarding bad behavior by allowing these serial killers a constant supply of NPCs to slaughter.

Blame the people who don't loot the corpses (which causes them to stick around longer), not ZOS.
Those people do that specifically to bother other players, at which, clearly, they've been successful.

Then the solution would be simple would it not? Despawn any remains as soon as the fresh mob spawns. No need to bother with separate timers. Spawn time reached = clear all remains + spawn new <whatever>

Would be nice if they did this for dolmens, Public dungeons and delves as well. It should not be your problem people don't pick up their junk.

Drives me nuts when those huge bosses’ bodies at dolmens stick around forever, especially even after the dolmen respawns. 🤦‍♀️

I find it quite disgusting. With so much killing in the world we don't need piles of dead in the game we love. I have been in some populated areas with so many murdered bodies that it looks like the Somme. ZOS, this leaves such a bad impression.

Easy answer, make murdered bodies with no loot. Make better mission/quest rewards at the end. ZOS would hate that though, better rewards that is.

I'm always quite proud of the bodies I leave lying around. Often, I try to kill them in areas with maximum visibility. You know, just like a cat.

They just need to make sure that the spawn timer is always greater than the corpse disposal timer, and if they need to move up the spawn timer, they need to shorten the corpse disposal timer accordingly.

While they are at it, they could remove npc from the end of quests, so they're not still where you left them years later. Usually having said.... 'I'll now go do x' but..... nope just still standing there....

This and so many other things makes the game feel static and on rails.

It's like the devs just don't have any concept of dynamism.

This, and it can be handy, I was once killed in IC made my way back to the old location and looted couple of bodies I killed while finishing quest for district. Now this is mostly an IC and sever issue but can imagine some get killed on an world boss and select wayshrine by mistake. Or you might be chased away by guards while murdering.

But as other says only the one with loot need to see the body. And lots don't have loot all on.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
