I thought High Isle was better than Blackwood, personally.

    Edit

On the whole I think their main storytelling is improving from the series low that was Blackwood. I did like Blackwood's side quests better than Necrom's though. Necrom's side quests were pretty disappointing mostly, especially the ones in Apocrypha.

Two years seems fine. Three years, three expansions may seem like a large barrier to entry for newer players. Lot of content to play through.

I thought the idea behind the new chapter stories were that they were gonna run for a while….. not just two expansion. May as well have just kept it how we had previous chapters and DLC instead of stretching it over 2 years 🙄

Honestly I say this everywhere...... If you want long good stories eso is not the game for that. The game for that is Final Fantasy 14. Each dlc is the same exact price as eso. It's one expansion is equal to almost every expansion that launched so far (no joke). Each expansion comes with 5-6 huge zones, 6 dungeons, between 4-6 trials, they introduce 3 24 man raids over the course of the first year after each dlc, they give you 12 more trials and 12 hard mode trials in the first year. They also introduce new dungeons every few months, you also get 2-3 new classes every expansion too..........

You get all that for the same price as 1 eso expansion that is half a story. The story mode in eso also takes 3-4 hours to beat and done where ff14 literally gives you 30+ hours of story content. Just saying there's a huge difference and eso seems to always cut corners and provide the least amount while still getting you to pay more imo.

ZoS remain doing the bare minimum and charging full price for it

Ya legit it's the reason I stopped playing. Still check the forums to see new changes but nothing ever excites me enough to return. I currently play ff14 and even private server ff11 (and that has more content than eso and it was released back in 2002 or something like that lol)

Is it really though? I legit finished every story and especially noticed dlc stories were finished in 3-5 hours max. That's legit 1 play session......... So how is that too much? That shows it's not enough imo. A MMO should be more than endless grinding of CP points

Even if it were only 4 quests, it's still more narrative content and lore than we are given with the archive.

Btw, it were 8 main story quests, 17 normal side quests, 20 repeatble daily quests.

Good catch - it's 4 skill points from the quests which is why I was thinking it was 4 quests.

That is still incorrect. Clockwork City is from my experience sort of anomaly compared to other dlcs in such that every single story quest gives 1 skill point from rewards. Meaning it gives 8 skill points from map story alone.

Summerset in contrast, a Chapter following, has 9 Map story quests, which in total award 3 skill points.

That 3-5 hours may be the case for you, but many of us take our time playing any ESO content, and it would take us days or weeks to finish a new chapter. Also, if 3-5 hours is 1 play session for you, you clearly have a lot more free time than I do.

Well that’s you. The chapters take me a pretty long time because I don’t have that much time, and when I do have some free time between work and everything else I don’t always want to play ESO.

Nope I work 55-60+ hours a week have a family so when I get the chance I would sit down a few hours and play, but that's all it ever took me to finish their stories. Especially since they have been super short (wrothgar dlc was the last longer story). After that everything fell off.

Official time they state is 30 hours for story quests (for a chapter, for the story dlcs it was 15).

I also remember the promise of more content to keep us going back to play (which I understood to be repeatable quests and activities). Well, Necrom had the same amount of repeatable quests as many other chapters; we got the Endless Archive, but lost a pair of dungeons and a zone DLC that would have its own dailies. That's less content to go back to than before.

I think that's for all the story. If someone were just to do the main story alone, they could get it done much faster. I haven't ever timed it, but I know it's a lot less time

Ya the main story is always way to fast. Side quests take longer than the main story that's crazy to me......

I think it took me five hours to finish the Necrom main story. I rushed through it with an alt just to get the Fate Scryer costume because I wanted to wear it on my new Arcanist. I haven't gone back to do any of the side quests, although have run the daily to get Azandar's quest completed.

This whole mess reminds me of the saying, "Be careful what you wish for as you just might get it." All the people and their polls saying, "I would rather skip a DLC and have a quarter of bug fixes instead"... and now this is what we get. Clearly they don't seem like they are going to worry about bugs anymore until Q3, just so they can skip adding new content.
