Doubt about Sorcerer Pets

I'm starting a Magicka Sorcerer and I've been following a pets' build. It seems nice for pve content, also easy to play, but I'm having some trouble disabling the pets when I don't need them. I was expecting it to disappear after a while, but somehow they remain long after combat. I know I can disable them by removing the skills and placing them back in, but it's not practical. So, for now, I decided keep all skills in only one bar and when I finish a combat, I just swap the bar and they disappear. It's a temporary solution.

I'd like to know if there's a proper or a more convenient way to quickly remove the pets when not in use. A shortcut key, an addon or something. I don't really need pets around all the time and I don't mind only summoning them at the start of each combat. It will be much better and also more immersive.

most people who use pet sorc builds end up putting them on both bars because of what you pointed out, they unsummon when you switch bars

If you bring up your character menu, it will show your buffs, including summoned combat pets. Right-click to unsummon.
