back in 99 and 2000 we had to use torches or certain skills like infravision or coldsight to even be able to see.
it was amazing.
That's what I use, e.g. in the Lightless Oubliette in Coldharbour, although I still don't understand why ZOS nerfed its duration from about 33 seconds to 22 seconds.BixenteN7Akantor wrote: »Almalexia's memento is really good to light areas

True, but there are some areas you are not allowed to use it. Like Cyrodiil and the Imperial City sewers
I'm not seeing the importance of this request, not to be mean though. I just think, you chose to use a 3rd party addon to make the game super dark, doesn't mean the game now has to cater to help you see. Especially when there's already options you've listed, even if they don't work exactly the way you want.
And realistically, the light from say the Treasure Hunter torch being "the light radius is very low", is how that light should work. In a dark area, if the light source is right next to you, you yourself aren't going to see much, but everything else away from you is going to see you just great, because the light is illuminating you, not the area around you. You're playing a Medieval Fantasy setting while basically asking for a flashlight.

It was definitely some time after Greymoor release, because that release was when I first started playing ESO (I started about mid 2020), and I first got the lantern many months after that, and it still lasted about 33 seconds at that point.SeaGtGruff wrote: »That's what I use, e.g. in the Lightless Oubliette in Coldharbour, although I still don't understand why ZOS nerfed its duration from about 33 seconds to 22 seconds.BixenteN7Akantor wrote: »Almalexia's memento is really good to light areas
I don't know why its duration was nerfed, but it would be interesting to know when they did that-- in particular, was it before or after the Greymoor chapter's release and the introduction of Antiquities? The cooldown for the Antiquarian Eye is shared with the cooldown for Almalexia's Magic Lantern, so if you accidentally activate Almalexia's Magic Lantern when you had meant to activate the Antiquarian Eye then you must wait for Almalexia's Magic Lantern to go out before you can use the Antiquarian Eye, so I'm wondering if they shortened the duration to help decrease the length of time you need to wait? It would be better still to let each of those tools have their own durations and cooldowns, but as long as they share their cooldown then nerfing the duration of the original cooldown by about 33% is a somewhat reasonable alternative-- far from perfect, but at least it was shortened by only a third.
