Someone else on the forums yesterday reported that customer service told him he was banned for a few days as well. If this is the case for all of us with this issue then something went wrong and banned us (of course minus the ones that deserved it).the_falcorrwb17_ESO wrote: »Like a lot of you I was having trouble logging in, that was when the server was actually up.
Like a lot of you I tried everything, but nothing worked.
I submitted a ticket and finally got a response.
Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team. I tried to give you a call but unfortunately, I couldn't reach you.

I can't login because I'm banned. Why am I banned? Because I reported a gold seller from trade chat.
Lesson learnt. If you see a gold seller in trade then download the add-on that automatically ignores them. Do not do the game a service. Do not try to help. Do not report them.
I do not know the reason for anyone's ban. Here is the timeline that I know of:Holycannoli wrote: »Wait what? People are getting banned for reporting gold spammers? Are you absolutely sure there's nothing else to the story you're leaving out?
Oh, I really hope that's not the case. I've reported a couple dozen of them so far... I'd feel pretty stupid catching an erroneous ban after investing hundreds of dollars in Zenimax (subscriptions+box for myself, wife, and oldest son).Holycannoli wrote: »Wait what? Now that is an extremely tangible possibility. But I would hope that when players filled out the reporting form they paid attention to the name they clicked on.Did any of you also chat in zone chat around the same time the goldspammers were spamming their ads? Maybe a few people mistakenly clicked on your name in the chat log instead of clicking on the goldspammer's name, and reported you instead of them.

Some spammers are overflowing chat and you can't see their name unless you make the font smaller. If you don't make it smaller and scroll up you see an innocent person's name before their spam. not their name.
This this this this this. Really annoying.
p.s. sorry messed up the quote snip.
