EA: I hate the Watcher portal - Filer's Wing

They made it extremely harder than all the other portals to the unknown. I think ZOS should change it.
For example: they could remove the cooldown of the skills: this would significantly help the player, who is sometimes chased by many zombies, but can only defend himself from one because the skills are on cooldown.
Or they could give us more health, so we can survive better if these zombies hit us. The fact is that these monsters kill us with two shots, while we struggle to kill them, we stun them a bit, but then they recover and spawn a lot.
I finished it 3 times (as a duo, i.e. 8 tomeshells), but I did it many times without succeeding. And every time my partner and I know that this will most likely be the portal that we won't pass through.

    I strongly agree

I'm stuck at 4/5. Whoever designed this, how should I put this nicely, does like to see people suffer. I swear if I ever manage to get the last level I will always skip this activity in the future. Whatever rewards can be had from this one do not worth the hassle.

Oddly enough I found 4/5 harder than 5/5. IDK

I meant that I completed 4/5th of the activity and stuck on the last one. This activity is just driving me nuts.

Yup, way more books in duo.

Had issues with this at the start, but easy clear now. Keep dropping ink behind you as you run. be patient with the tentacles and whirlwinds. A lot of the winds you can run past at the side. Don't attempt to run past active tentacles. Speed buff, pretty much every time it is off cooldown. If adds get too close mez them. I rarely finish them off, deliberately, as they will just respawn and may end up being in front of you. Just keep on looping around until you have all books.

With things like this I always wonder how it got thru PTS without people throwing a fit about it.
I also do not enjoy this side room. Sometimes I just nope out and turn around, but sometimes I try it. Never could figure out, or have to time to figure out what the 4 skill was, but thanks to the helpful info in here I am willing to give it another go.
The watcher room and the crystal lady room are the two I have the issues with. I am guessing fewer people have trouble with the Lady boss with the crystals cause they have enough dps to break the crystals fast enough to deal with rest of it, but my best dps character still can not survive this side room. I know I get told there are very few actual dps checks in this game and I would argue this is one of those places.

In almost every other quest like system, it will tell you how many you got and need
    Ex. 3/4 collected.

Why can’t they do that here? I am 4/5 and thought i hit 4 but ending up losing this stage because looks like i missed one but no clue if i did or not. And 2 zombies chasing you, not going to look back to see if i missed it

The game should say if i got the tomb or not.

This is the worst one for sure. The interface is clunky, it's buggy, there are desyncs, skills don't work well.

Try it going in transformed as a werewolf.

People testing the content are usually able players having not much issues with puzzles and simple side encounters, those are usually meant to be solved, not tweaked.

They are becoming issues when already are at masses hands, where way different levels of play operate.

It's my favourite bonus wing. Some pro tips if you're struggling:
    1. start with PvP shield ultimate before being transformed
    2. use healing potions, don't just assume they don't work
    3. don't kill adds, stun (4) and slow (5) them instead
    4. keep adds behind you, or stun (4) them if you have to run past
    5. stun (4) is a ranged AoE attack and lasts for ages
    6. use explosion (1) shortly before reaching a tome, it has a delay
    7. if something in a black hole is moving don't go near it, wait for the tentacles to come out
    8. use edges and obstacles to get past tornadoes
    9. don't waste stun (4) on tomes, don't waste explosion (1) on adds
    10. save your sprint (3) for escaping from adds, tornadoes or reviving an ally

You can also loot the urns you come across, despite being transformed.

I agree though that there should be a progress indicator.

This one was a nightmare to complete and, although I liked it at first, I now hate it as well. The ghost lights one was hell on the 4th part, but it strangely became much easier on the 5th. I completed the Bosmer duelist ones, but now when she comes up I just curse her ancestors and leave; too much work for usually meager rewards.

Filer's Wing would become much more bearable if the watchling could heal itself. Also, what the hell is that filer talking about? It's far easier to hunt tomeshells and bash those blasted hushed in humanoid form!

The butchery is possibly the easiest, but there's a problem: it removes my mundus stone (the steed) and I can't leave to get it back without abandoning the run.

Yes you can. You can leave and come back and keep your run. Just don't take too long.

if your running solo, you have 5 min before the instance resets

if your running duo, as long as 1 person is in the instance it will effectively never reset

The watchling one at first was very annoying, but I've gotten better at it.

The butcher wasn't bad. Cleared it solo.

The switch puzzle I'm stuck at 2 for now.

The battle one I've cleared to 4. Haven't tried last fight yet.

The ghost light one is annoying. Stupid light do not follow no matter what I do. Tried light attack, bashing and going through them. Nothing has worked.

You just go up to them, wait for them to turn green and move them to the middle in a timely but not too brisk manner. A buddy likes to block walk them in, others walk backwards, I like to mix and match, block, move, block move, reverse, depending on mood.

The switch puzzle I'm stuck at 2 for now.

    Solo:
Identify the button for the first platform, then after using it quickly push all the remaining ones and run.
If the last platform disappears too fast, you can slot a sprint skill and also identify and press the final platform last.

    Duo:
Get 1 person to check and use the buttons to see the order. Then say it in chat, like
    531 462

. And then get 1 person to press them while the other is running.

I swear I got one puzzle while solo that even using all the switches there still was not a contiguous path to the other side.

That is how I got past it.

Still struggle with both the filer wing and the fight with the wood elf. The latter I rarely attempt now I have the bonuses.

The ghost lights I pick up three at a time and can do easiest. The goat I can do except when I gey out of range when right over the roll. Happened a few times now and means I tend to die while trying to pick it up.

I agree with most of those, good advice, but potions don’t restore health — I have tried that. However, I do recall reading it does help if you were an Argonian before you became a watcher.

The switches will open a path to the other side. You just have to take a few moments to determine the proper order to switch them. Standing by one highlights the area of the floor it will make safe, then just switch them in order from front to back. Don’t try to frantically go between switches as you’ll probably overshoot — or at least I would so I do it quick as I reliably can and then run across (Speed and Celerity CP and now Tentacular movement). The only time I failed the puzzle was when I tried to rush the first part and then use streak.

For the Ghost light just take your time on the edges and gather them together. The final run 5/5 I think i had them all together or at least all but one. Saves a ton of time to not have to go to center for each one.
