I don't think pre-existing characters would be made into Companions. Half of the names listed here are already in a different state of being if you played through Auridon, Craglorn, Imperial City and the Fighters Guild questlines.
i really do not believe we will ever get pre-existing characters as companions.
miaow! i'm Luna ( she/her ).
🌸*throws cherry blossom on you*🌸 "Eagles advance, traveler! And may the Green watch and keep you."
🦬🦌🐰 PlayStation and PC EU.
LunaLolaBlossom on psn.
LunaFloraBlossom on pc.
If pre-existing NPCs would ever become available as companions I'd want either Naryu Virian, Ashur or the werewolf guy from the Markarth DLC.
PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!. Outfit slots not being accountwide is ridiculous given their price. PC EU/PC NA roleplayer and solo PvE quester
I'm fairly sure they don't intend to take existing npcs and add them to the companion system, but I wouldn't mind a chance to hang out with Fennorian more.
PC-NA : 19 Khajiit and 1 Fishy-cat with fluffy delusions. cp3600
GM of Imperial Gold Reserve trading guild (started in 2017) since 2/2022
Come visit Karth's Glitter Box, Khajiit's home. Fully stocked guild hall done in sleek Khajiit stylings, with Grand Master Stations, Transmute, Scribing, Trial Dummies, etc. Also has 2 full bowling alleys, nightclub, and floating maze over Wrothgar.
None of the above. This is kind of an odd selection of characters chosen overall. Kinlady estre in particular is an odd choice considering she's the main antagonist in auridon's story and she doesn't survive us getting involved there.
Personally I prefer the new characters they come up with for companions.
There really should be a none of the above option as I doubt they'll do pre-existing characters. Also, I wouldn't a companion that was an enemy of ours before they were killed.
I am not sure how this poll was actually intended, as OP did not clarify, but considering that companions have all been original characters (and presumably will continue to be such), and, as some others here have pointed out, some of the poll options are canonically deceased, I choose to read this as a choice of archetype rather than the specific NPC.
Therefore, I choose Lyranth. I find her absolutely hilarious, and a character with similarly dry demeanour and ambiguous intentions could make for a fantastic companion.
@ Yffre'sTrill - PC/EU (No Steam)
- Naering (Bosmer WW Archer - Valenwood separatist, Hircine-agnostic, honoured affiliate of the Gang of Scroungers.) Alts: Kunali, Free-as-Wind, Gurzog gro-Kosh, Seldril, Hatiba, Kareemal, Gilfirion, Elorwe, Ludvikke, Tsetha-Vos, Loulou Villeau, Nilvani, Horvund, Maritia, and Treads-the-Aurbis.
There are a couple of others I would love to journey with, but I can't think of their names right now (two others I would like would be Revus and Tiras, but only together)
I voted Fennorian, because he is, by far, one of my very favorite characters- but I'd also love to have Cadwell.
Barring that, I'd LOVE to have Robbie Daymond voice a companion- the man is incredibly talented. Every role he has voiced in ESO sounds different.
I could only dream of a companion voiced by John Cleese. Would love to have his wit and masterful intelligence written into a companion- especially if he were allowed to write some of the dialouge. Can you imagine an assassin companion written by him? The black humor that man could produce...
Legends never die
They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
Legends never die
I wouldn't like pre-existing NPCs as companions (though I do love some of the characters the Vestige has met over the years), because it wouldn't go well with their backstories and how their relationships with the Vestige has been so far. Also I'd rather think of them having their own separate adventures and goals than to be summoned whenever we wish, and I'm happy to meet them only whenever our paths coincide. I think the companions being completely new characters and their life taking a turning point after meeting the Vestige works better story-wise.
I dont want any of the above as a companion, I'd like a new character. Of the list above though Sir Cadwell and Fennorian would be the most fun characters. Stuga as long as she wasn't excessively annoying.
