Server Maintenanance schedule

Hi Developers and Server technicians,
Do you have any set maintenance schedule?
I know adhoc maintenance might be required, but I would like to know.
Usually it's wee hours of morning based on EST.

I'm an early riser and twice now since early access, I can't get in on my schedule, so I like to now so I can adjust my schedule to maximize gameplay time. I'm a working stiff and have a life outside this game.
Not knowing when to expect game time is frustrating and has been a deal breaker in the past for me continuing to play on.

I would also like a page or icon on the website that shows server status. Every other MMO has this so you know before you attempt to log on that the game is down, and for approximately how long.

Agreed @Drgo1980. A notice on the Launcher (for PC) would be nice rather than watching the splash screens fo all the usual suspects, then trying to log in and then getting the notice that servers are down.

I agree, they need to disable the 'play' button on the launcher when they are down for maintenance. Having to launch the game only to find out you can't sign-in is rather annoying, when you could simply find out on the splash if they set it up.

Well they have updates in this thread, if you haven't found it yet:

Exact ETA's have not yet been announced, so I'm just going to go to bed and hopefully it will be up by the time I wake.

Update? They might as well just copy and paste every few hours rather than change one or two words to make it 'look' like new information......

Even at the start they could have given a ETA. Instead looks more like 'when its up it'll be up'. Really is not a great practice to informing customers. Give a actual ETA would be nice, even if you have to extend it. Just some form of when it 'may' be up.

Well I know as a maintainer, giving an ETA or ETC is a tough thing, but they should at least have some idea of the time frame. Then again there hasn't been much "Mega-server" maintenance in the world and they maybe breaking new ground on this type of work. I just hope they will become more confident and proficient in the down times to come. This IS still opening week and I know it will only improve from here. Give 'em hell tech guys, we appreciate your work and look forward to the game.

I'm not quite sure what the OP is asking for, but it sounds to me like he/she is asking for a maintenance schedule, as in when is the regular downtimes for server maintenance.

Most MMOs I know of does this once every or every other week, and knowing when the servers would normally be down for required maintenance would be great.

During unexpected downtimes, it would be nice to have an ETA for when the servers are back up again.
If its difficult to give an ETA, then the could set a long ETA so when they finish early, people will be happy about it being done early and it would give them extra time to work should they need it.

Better to make too long estimates and make them look like miracle workers, than set too short times and make them look like the are slow workers or something.

When you are trouble shooting database related problems it is not always practical to give a ETA. You have to identify the problem first and then come up with a solution that may need to be tested before implemented, that takes time. If you know exactly what the problem is then a ETA is possible.

I have no idea what the real problem ZOS is having..just saying.

There isn't a set maintenance schedule yet. This is a launch, and as such they have to tackle big issues as they pop up. It's a lot like predicting the weather, but with the ability to fix the weather if it gets bad.

Some people logged in to a completely empty bank. Some were getting disconnected randomly over and over, and often getting rolled back a little in the process. Not to mention quests that have been bugged since day one.

Believe me when I say that this launch has been one of the smoothest in history, but what problems they have encountered have to be addressed before play can continue. I've been testing this game for them in the ongoing beta for months now. ( not weekend beta ) I'll tell you that these guys are absolute pros at getting the job done and truly care about this game more than I've seen out of any developer in the past.

The service schedule was on this page (https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail2/a_id/4320), but seems to have disappeared.

    It read:
The Elder Scrolls Online undergoes regular maintenance to provide you with the best service possible. We have scheduled the following windows for this purpose, although we may not need to use them every week:

    North American Megaserver

    Wednesdays at 13:00 BST (8:00 a.m. EDT)

    Sundays at 11:00 BST (6:00 a.m. EDT)

    European Megaserver

Tuesdays at 13:00 BST (14:00 CEST)

Sundays at 09:00 BST (10:00 CEST)

Most maintenance periods will last for no more than a few hours. During these times, we'll deploy patches, server optimizations, database updates, hardware upgrades, and perform other routines that keep ESO running smoothly
