How far have you gotten in the Endless Archive?

I'm now on the fence over the whole thing after reading through this thread.

Was against tedious repetitive actions in the name of "fun"

But now there's a piece of me that hopes ZOS changes nothing until this plays out.

It's definitely doing one thing if nothing else - getting some buzz and talk going around it.

• Tips and tricks are being shared
• People seem to be progressing farther into it
• There's always the elite who are out there right now as I type this; prepping that screenshot of going farther than anyone else ever has.

What would of been worse? Threads about how easy it was and things like "finished it in 2 hours, what's next?? - Guess I'll go back to standing in towns people watching waiting for next content release".

I wouldn’t mind ZOS giving us infinite amount of threads/lives at the cost of being disqualified from the leaderboards. This will give more players opportunity to keep going without worrying about having to learn the mechanics within 3 lives or end up back at the start again. There are so many bosses to be encountered in there. I rather let my build dictate how far I can go and not the limited amount of lives I have…. That’ll get me to keep playing it more than just Arc 1 and done…..

EA isn’t perfect… it could use some adjustments and bug fixes… a save point…... it can be done in a way without jeopardizing the experience for those who want to keep the same difficulty.

I think it's poorly balanced if you can't even complete arc 1. I already had such a difficult boss at the end of 1.3.3 that wiped me 3 times and that was it. Doesn't exactly motivate me to keep playing...

Having got to the final set of mobs in the final cycle right before the final boss of the arc and getting booted from the server makes me want to repeat my plea for a save point on this activity. It doesn't have to be after every round but at least after every boss fight the option to save progress so that when you are kicked from the server you don't have to do the whole thing again... or in my case since I don't have time, give up for the day and try again tomorrow.

I really think this is why they made it like they did, because underlying a lot of decisions about eso there's a real old time ethos.

Got halfway through Arc 2 quite easily with Isobel doing a bit of mediocre tanking. Then my time to play was up.

And that's most annoying. I usually don't have long uninterrupted hours to play this thing, which means so far my progress was limited by the time I could invest into running between trash mobs and chasing down stragglers at the edge of the arena, not by dying.

If they don't want to implement a save feature for some reason, at least add a buff "when you've completed an Arc three times without dying, you get the option to skip it", or something like that.

Got two times to fighting Tho'at for the second (or third?) time. I don't mind one-shot mechanics, but it feels underwhelming/unfair when you can't know it in advance or potentially don't even understand what happened after (not talking about regular heavy attacks).

Not gone in there yet, and the more I read about it; the less likely I am to go.

It appears to be a form of randomised arena with recycled content (Bosses from other places), which has no appeal. I'll just monitor it for now and wait and see what its like in 6moths to a year.

I made it to arc 3, cycle 4, stage 1 solo a couple of times, but I think I need to build a lot more defensively to progress from there, because it's not just the second marauder who wipes me, but also the adds hit really hard as well, and my heals are not enough. The irony is that the bosses felt a lot easier compared to the adds from what I've seen in arc 3 so far

Arc 5, got all the way to tho'at, then had to jump off because server maintenance was in 5 minutes. Probably could have kept going. I will try again when there is no server maintenance, lol.

Final Form Tho'at is worse than any of the trial bosses.

at least arc 1 i would say is maybe on the same level as a group dungeon on normal, most things did not feel like a threat (some of the trial bosses that could spawn on cycle 4 of arc 1 could be difficult if you didnt know the mechanics)

for the OP, the furthest ive been able to make it is arc 3 cycle 3 as well, i dont remember the stage but usually what ends up killing me are the marauders 1 shotting me for 25k light attack in arc 3

The end of arc 3, we lost a life at the stupid marauder the trash previously, and then the Thot boss wrecked us.

Arenas are not my jam but I tried it and died 3x to Lady Thorn in Arc 1. Haven't been back yet.

I wish these could be done with larger groups than 2. I know that would be 'too easy', but for me, it's way more fun to see a boss totally melt from a group working together.

I made it to arc 3, cycle 1, stage 3 and died the most embarrassing death on the boss stage by getting thrown off the edge of the arena... But I'm glad I got to clear arc 3 Thoat and see how the fight was. Honestly once Thoat dies the fight is not so bad, just terribly drawn out. I had more trouble in some add stages in arc 4...

BTW, it was also mentioned in another thread but periodically you might lose your set bonuses after going into a side portal that transforms you into something. So make sure to check your stats once you leave the portal and if something is off, the unslot and slot a gear piece. For me, I lost the bonus from my monster set once from the watchling transformation portal and had to unslot and reslot the helm to get the set bonus back.

I was plugging away spamming group finder with arenas/trials/dungeons and i came across an endless archive ad. I was on a 600cp account warden all training, i was just a little curious and thought id take a peek. We got through to arc 6 something, i recognized bosses and their accompanying mechanics with some surprise variations. I absolutely loved it and it gave me the information i needed to put a character together for a serious run, i am really really looking forward to what the archive brings to me next time!😁
