Furnishings that can be farmed with their drop location (rare drops)

Hey hey

As a collector by heart, I recently started to collect ingame furnishings which drop from specific sources (so called rare drops, furniture items that can not be crafted or bought) and track down where to get those from. I have almost every item collected now and thought i could list them all for you guys here, probably anyone can do something with it.
Items which can be found/pickpocketed and bought/crafted too (e.q. rough bread, morsel or rough rod, fishing) are not listed in here.

Since the post i found about this is pretty old and not really up to date, here is the remake.

Hints:
I listed the items in the associated category from the game, tried to sort them alphabetically in the corresponding drop location. Items that can be found through pickpocketing in specific regions include both stealing containers (wardrobes, desks, etc.) and theft from NPCs (pickpocketing).

Books looted from Treasure Map Chests, Endless Archive, Bastion Nymic and Scrivener's Hall Vault Chests will only populate in their respective loot tables if you have read the book either as a standalone object (ala lore books), from bookshelves (random chance, zone-influenced) or from a player's house.

On the item page, delete '_(furnishing)' from the end of the url in your address bar and usually you'll be taken to the lore page which will show you where to find the eidetic memory book to pick up. That being said...

UESP has been oddly, er, hesitant to update some of their tables on what books are lootable from which sources. In particular, they only show one book lootable from Scriv Hall when there's at least a dozen. You can find a ton more books attributed to scrivner's hall at ESO Fashion https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/category/database/miscellaneous/furnishings/update/scribes-of-fate/

If someone else has collected a book furnishing and has it on display in their house, you can skip the hunting-it-down eidetic memory step by just interacting with the furnishing. Note that reading shalidor's library books placed in houses will not give you Mage's Guild skill line progression.

Eidetic memory recording is character-specific; it may be worth having a dedicated treasure-mapper, scriv-haller, bastion-nymicer etc who has read all the books on a respective drop-table.

Certain books will spawn on podiums in the endless archive lobby after certain conditions are met; these books are on the muniment chest drop tables so it's worth checking on them from time to time.

There are a few books that only appear in eidetic form in endless archive; I've found a few on the floor with no effects glow whatsoever, often cluttered with similar objects. So keep your eyes peeled.

Seeing an actual list of everything available just reinforce the idea in my mind that Vvardenfell was just the best zone.

It has the best item drops, the best scenery, the best storyline. I know it was meant to appeal to Original Morrowind Nostalgia... and it works, because it feel like the most thoughtfully designed zone.

Now if only some of the items had less astronomically low drop rates... (looking at you, 6th house banner)

I've been tagging mods for over a year in regards to broken achievements. Nothing but radio silence, even after they responded initially and said that they would provide updates. I bet if I posted a bug report about the Crown Store, that I would see an immediate response.

It's a shame that the books from Scrivener's Hall Vault Chests are bind-on-pickup. They're ridiculously rare and people who actually manage to get them that aren't interested in the furnishings just vendor them. Why should the books be bound but other drops from the same source are not???

Yeah, ik... Me as a collector, i really cant understand why its like that. Doesnt makes sense at all. Also the books which got added to the different zones are bound on pickup iirc. Gotta add them still when i got time. Atleast they (can/will?) not been sold at the merchant yet. Not sure about bastion nymic book drops too.

I want all of the books, but my patience has run out with the absolutely horrendous implementation of all of the recent book furnishings. This game has so much to offer and I don't want to spend hundreds of hours grinding just for book furnishings. I've completed Bastian Nymic over 100 times and have only pulled a handful of book furnishings which includes duplicates, so I still haven't even completed that set yet.

The amount of books added is insane. Will try my luck in any of the zones some time probably. Ran Scriveners Hall and Bastion Nymic not hundreds but still a lot of times and havent pulled a single book so far, neither have seen any of my teammates getting one. Only item i got out of those so far, was the Hermaeus Mora Banner which is pretty rare i believe. But again, why in the f*ckin hell would the stones, and the door not be bound but the banners are??? Whyy?

Im most likely going to spend hundreds of hours farming Vvardenfell plants and Alinor Table Runners till the years completes and probably even longer now so it doesnt really makes a difference xD Im about 5000 plants and a lot of hours in atm, pulled only 4 out of all the 29 plants which are available and even only green ones so far. Atleast no dupilicates, but had them all ofc since green ones get sold every once in a while. There are several blue drops that have not been sold for atleast a year or 2. But atleast those are somewhat cool to get and really rare, other than just a book which most likely looks identical to the last one youve pulled ^^

Anyone sees a reason for it? Why not make the ones you can actually drop from chests not bound and the ones from the merchant bound? Would make soo much more sense. @ZOS_GinaBruno Might you discuss that with your team to be changed in the future? You are ruining the interest of those rare drops for us collectors otherwise.

What’s extra annoying about the Scrivener’s Hall books is that some of them look distinctly different from most book furnishings. For example, the Journal of Emperor Leovic is actually an open book.

I ran that dungeon 50+ times. I got the vault door, one rock and not a single book. It’s ridiculous.

i havent gotten one but also didnt really tried. they got added with the newest patch so i dont have too many informations about those yet. but if the drop rate is the same as for the scriveners hall books, its likely you havent got 1 so far

I know your list excludes a number of items that can also be crafted, but do have lootable sources. Not sure if you would want to include those in a separate sections just for informational sake.

Also, a very important thing to keep in mind for any other rare furnishing collectors out there is that a number of the rare plant drops can also be obtained in an unbound state from purchasing some unfurnished homes with gold. I am always cross-referencing my lootable list while shopping guild traders with my list of items from unfurnished homes, just to make sure there aren't multiple sources. Example: there is a big difference between the rarity of Plants, Lava Pitcher Shoots and Plants, Lava Pitcher Cluster, since the Cluster variant can be also obtained by purchasing with gold the Amaya Lake Lodge unfurnished besides being farmed from VVardenfell harvest nodes.

Elder - just to clarify, did you mean "Mushroom, Buttercake" or "Mushrooms, Buttercake Cluster"? I didn't see you mention "Mushroom, Buttercake" in your list above, and I was not tracking this as being a lootable item. Do you have a source that suggests it is also lootable?

I'll adjust these, i was probably too tired and not focused 100% anymote so i mightve overseen some items ^^

I didnt added the alinor runners yet bcs i have no clue if the drop location is actually true. have never seen one ingame and only 1 registered sale in last 5,5years since Sommersend dropped.

Also where do you have the information if a painting drops from Nothern or Sothern Elsweyr chests? Can you probably provide a full list? Couldnt find out for every painting as UESP didnt know
