what is it wit the 3 hours downtime????

ok 1 hour os good... 1.5 hours is ok... 3 hours???? common... some of us took days of from work.. im not saying to hurry up... im saying... give us an estimate!!! dam is almost 4am here.. and I will love to know if we should go to bed or not!! cause if there server goes down and you guys say ..5 hours downtime.. fine! we go to bed.. and wake up early... this way we just keep waiting and waiting for no reason.!!! INFORMATION!!! please...

There was a pretty serious problem they had to address, i think relating to gold sellers/exploiting

Usually the only reason for the servers being taken down like this, is that a dupe or other game destroying bug was discovered.

They launched the game too early and as a result the game will be down for the most part of the first month.

A little information goes a long way. "We're still working on it and have honestly NO idea how long it will take" is acceptable.

Even better yet, "We found the mouse in the mega server that was chewing on the wires. We estimate another hour or so until we can catch the guy and release him into the wild."

from what i can gather the OP is asking why there hasnt at least been some sort of general ETA for the servers coming back online.
Yes if its really serious and they don't know then i'd guess an ETA is impossible, but if the servers are gonna be down for 18 hours then at least let us know a ball park figure (workrates arent crystal ball technology).

Alot of customer dissatisfaction can be evaded with some simple communication skills. We want to play the game, we like the game, we want to like the devs... how about an estimate at least

well thats a kick in the balls. not saying i JUST preorderd to get a few days of head start but yea that was a big selling Point and now it seems most of that time is lost to downtimes - not happy john

Want to play the game? I think the main reason most people pre-ordered was for the early access which apparently we will instead be getting an extended 5-day beta period. It really blows when I get home from work just to play for 2 hours and then have the game go down for 4 hours.

_again _? They already took the server Down once for this yesterday, if the exploits are _this_ bad at such an early point, I am getting a bit worried for the future...

I agree it would be nice to know how long it would take so I could go do other things. But I guess the problem is they aren't sure how long they will be.

took days off from work for a game? lol...a lot of games have maintenance that takes 6-8, sometimes 12 hours. You would only complain if they gave you an estimate like they all do thinking the estimate is some implied promise...soon will come the "if it's not up in 30 minutes I'm not resubbing!" posts...they always do...and it's not their issue, problem, nor fault that you took "days off from work". That's all on you. BTW...what company you work for that let's you call in for gaming? I would get fired if I told my boss "taking time off to go play games...see ya when I get back!" That's a heck of a boss and job!

Hamster got loose from the cage and now the wheels are empty and their racing to the pet store to try and buy replacements.. problem is that you have to find something Hamster Size.. and finding copies of Richard Hammond ai't easy

But yeah Zenimax needs to learn communication skills .
