what other stuff do you do while playing eso?

Sometimes hanging around waiting for others or doing some grind/farming what other stuff keeps the boredom at bay?

Watch tv? streamers/youtube? Music? (play something else..)?

For me it's currently audio books.

If I'm playing actively and doing quests I'm fully engaged in first person mode or if doing dungeons or other content where I need to feel immersed. For daily writs these days after a few years now I sometimes read news and/or listen to twitch streamers. It's not boredom - more just multi-tasking - could easily just do writs. Twitch streamers of ESO can enhance the writs. Sometimes with the news it's a matter of not having much time in my day to look at it.

    lol, the normal amount

the tv is kind of behind me while im playing on my gaming computer, but because of the glass panel on my computer case i can still see the reflection of the tv to peek at it but its mostly for background noise

2 of the monitors are hooked up to a laptop that is more for web browser (so thats where i have my IMs, and stuff like the forums up), and i dont always have my 2nd computer on (playing 2 games at once does help keep one busy lol, sometimes its more relaxing to not be doing that lol)

I don't when playing ESO. I do when playing Maplestory tho. Music or podcasts in that case, it'd probably be the same for ESO if it was as grindy as maple.

That's me, too-- usually. But if I've already done most or all of my daily must-do stuff and think I can afford to play without my full, undivided attention, then I might turn on the TV and half-watch it while I play, or pull up Twitch and half-watch/listen to a stream. Checking the forum or browsing the internet are the worst, because those do tend to distract me too much.

Y'know, there's just the two of us (and the dog) in the house. So yes, I play ESO, and manage a couple of client websites I have left (I keep trying to retire but it's not working....)

And husband has the DAMNED tv on from 7 am until bedtime (usually around 10 pm). And his preferred garbage is news. So I get to be drowned in all that dreck. I hate tv. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't own one. I don't need it - I can get weather online, along with anything else I'm looking for.

Headphones are a minor barrier. The tv is behind me as I sit at the desk, and I still have to hear it all even headphoned. That's the problem with excellent hearing - I even hear it all in every other room of the house. And no.... I can't just crank the sound up to "decibel-injury" level....

So thanks for letting me /grumble.

I have a book open beside the keyboard when doing daily writs and surveys, and read it. Thankfully the mentioned activities only require glancing at the screen now and then so that's possible. That way it isn't so boring. I don't even really know why I am doing the writs anymore since I have tens of millions gold and don't spend it all that much. Force of habit, I guess.

Well, I'm approaching the end of that long life (no, not immanent - according to my doctor I'm "so healthy it's disgusting") - but 40 or so years from now, yes, I'll be sent on to something if there is something else (I'm not convinced there is - I think we all just become component atoms). But the one thing I know is that there is always something else to learn, something else to have fun with, something else to do with oneself.

Right now, much of my time is taken up with caring for my nearly 90 year old husband (he's in very good health, but his mind is deteriorating, and that causes a fair amount of issues of course.) Outside of that, I spend several hours a day in ESO, and after that I read until time to make dinner, and then I read some more. Books are my escape and my solace - and when I'm not reading I'm writing.

I encourage you to move your thoughts outward. Develop or increase curiosity. Don't allow yourself to stagnate - the world, as flawed and dangerous as it can be, has much to offer anyone. And with the internet (OH how I wish the internet had been available when I was 30!) you can discover so much to expand your interests.

My best to you! I hope you "live long and prosper" (to quote Spock - the first Star Trek series was actually the last thing I watched on tv....)

Awesome! Chewie is my fav out of those movies!

Eh those old Star Trek episodes.... that was in the mid 60s when I was in high school. I'm sure they're still around somewhere - but if you found them you'd probably laugh so hard you'd choke. Not as bad as some of the sitcoms of the same era though.

ESO, in contrast, is quality entertainment. For which I am VERY thankful. I've played computer RPGs since 1985.... and games have definitely gotten better since back then.

I don't do anything else while playing, at least not through boredom or hanging around/grinding - those things simply don't arise. However, if at a particular time it's a choice between playing a game in the study or watching cricket on the TV in the lounge then I may have one computer on for the game and the other computer on alongside it running a live update on the cricket. I always - without exception - have the game's soundtrack on and never listen to other stuff while playing. Both the in-game music and conversations are a major part of my immersion.

I listen to the Oblivion OST while playing. Other than that I don't really do anything else except if I have to monotonously grind something like companion levels, then I might listen to other music or a podcast while I do that. But I do things like that rarely.
