ESO Still has not yet implemented crossplay or cross save and there’s no way I’m going to start all over on PC achievement wise, crown purchase wise, basically everything I collected over the years. But I’m very conflicted with having to pay ESO+ and Xbox live.
Since it seems like crossplay and cross save being the most asked for feature that never goes away is just being pushed off and probably won’t happen (what a shame, crippling the community and keeping the numbers dwindling on old MMO concepts) at least work something out doesn’t Microsoft own y’all? I’m sure if Bungie could make it happen some how you guys could too. Or reduce ESO+ by 9.99 a month for Xbox.
Is that an impossible ask like crossplay/cross save seems to be? Or heck account transfers from console to Pc?

If Destiny hadn’t gone free to play and added Crossplay a couple years ago then the player base probably would have died. ESO is on track to do the same.

we already got a taste of that when epic store did a free eso giveaway and then weeks afterwards we were plagued by RMT spammers which we hadnt seen since game launch
likely this was also something that played into the whole crown store gifting fiasco too

RMT spammers are a minor annoyance in zone chat that you can ignore or block. I’d rather play a more populated game with a few gold sellers than one without them that’s dying.

good luck with that when you hit your 100 block limit lol
i would rather there be no RMT spammers, as they are how people get their accts hijacked and cause other problems (see: crown store gifting problems)
the game is definitely not dying on PC lol

It’s dying on all platforms if you go based on traffic to ESO content on YouTube or Twitch. There’s a reason almost all the content creators have stopped making content.

it's not dying.
content creators are people just like us and they sometimes like other games more.
and whether or not they make content doesn't decide if the game is alive or dead.

Content creators want to make money just like anyone else and the biggest reason they stop making content for a game is because of the lack of interest of players for the game. There’s no ad revenue in spending the time making content for a game that gets you 5,000 views when another game will get 50,000+.
I’ve been playing since 2016 and these last few months is the lowest active players I’ve seen on PlayStation NA.

Aren't bots already a problem on consoles? Do you want to know how much worse it will be if this went free to play?

Maddoghalo1 wrote: »Lol literally everyone took free to play absolutely wrong. When I said free to play it means you can play ESO on xbox/psn without having to pay for xbox live service just to play. That’s 9.99+14.99 eso+ Some people are like it’s part of game pass blah blah so it technically is free. No, literally would not be paying for game pass period otherwise. I play all other games on PC which doesn’t need a sub to play online.

You can’t play ESO on console without a PSN or Xbox live subscription.
And the only bots on console are farming resource nodes in starter zones.

Bot farming on console is far worse than just farming resources in starter zones. They are rampant in every base game zone. From clusters of sorcs with pets killing mudcrabs, bears, wolves, senches 24/7 to bot trains running programmed paths around the zones, killing and harvesting everything in their path. I've seen bots in public dungeons like Lion's den in The Rift, running around the dungeon, avoiding the mobs and harvesting everything. To my knowledge, these kind of programmed bot activities can only be done on a PC running a console emulator in order to set paths and move the bot trains in coordination.
As for crossplay, it would ruin the console economy, especially guild traders, since there are only 5-6 traders per town. There is already competition for the trader spots. How would that work out if the number of guilds competing for a trader just doubled (if NA and EU servers crossed) or tripled (if all 3 NA systems merged. The same for EU.) Or 6X increase if ALL 6 servers crossed) There aren't enough traders to go around and since gold is far more readily available on PC, console guilds wouldn't stand a chance at getting a trader, ever again.
