PVP event with double XP but no increase in PVP currencies?

When reading through the Mayhem description I realized that we will get double xp but did not see AP nor tel var mentioned. Is this becoming a PVE event now?

"This year, you no longer need to use the Scroll of Pelinal’s Ferocity to get your buffs during the event; all bonuses are now passive in the appropriate worlds while the event is running. They aren't taking away the scroll bonuses. Just making it easier to not have to remember to keep it up. This is a good adjustment for the event. The number of times I didn't realize the scroll ran out prior to a major AP tic amount to a lot of missed AP.

Serious question, what are people spending their AP on? The push to earn it is never ending but I’m sitting on millions of it with no purpose. I can only carry so many siege and camps and don’t need any set boxes.

a lot of the push to earn it is hitting grand overlord rank 2 (alliance rank 50), which requires ~64 million AP (when you hit rank like 40, you are only 50% of the way to rank 50 in terms of total AP needed)

in terms of spending, theres the gold vendor, gear boxes, a few style sets (2 motifs and 1 set of style pages), and other stuff you can sell like the alliance potions

I usually just buy trash gold jewelry to decon and flip the grains for gold, or if there's good jewelry, I sell it. Same with spell pots, or anything of value gold-wise
Though I'm a playstation player and gold is not as abundant like on PC, plus managing all classes both mag and stam makes me poor. Lol I have about 200k gold on playstation to spend on gear for 20 characters. So that's where all my AP goes
towards. My AP to gold conversions essentially allows me to stay a PVP main each patch


Though that's a personal problem, I'm sure your average PVP'er has no AP sink and it piles up. I know I'm the odd one out

Armour sets and dawn prisms etc.
