Crown Store Gifting Update – October 2023

    I'm not even asking to enable it in my 10 alt accounts, I only want it in my main, wait more than a week for a response in my appeal, for the moment I will not renew my ESO plus, will not pay a single $ anymore for a company that doesn't care for me, I'm waiting my gifting function to be enabled so I can do a 1 year sub and buy gold road... If not, I will just live without it, using addons to manage my bank and trash, and buy it for gold when it comes in the crown store next year. I think I've paid already too much for this game for having a feature I had before and they have just cut off.

    With 13000 hours based on steam tracking, logging on almost every day, have years of uninterrupted eso+, still got denied with this message.

    "We regret to inform you that we are unable to fulfill your request to activate Gifting on your account.
    Your account must show consistent game play activity and/or be active in an in-game ESO community prior to submitting your application to be considered for eligibility to participate in the ESO gifting program."

    My account is from pre-release and gifting is blocked as well.

    The crazy part? If I'm in the crown store and go to gift an item I don't have enough crowns for it says:
    "You do not have enough Crowns to complete this purchase. You can add additional Crowns..." and directs me to purchase more.

    Yet, an item I wish to gift that I DO have enough crowns for the error is GIFTING LOCKED.

    That's cruel, ZOS. That's just bad policy my dude.

    So sad and shaken that once again gifting has been denied for all my accounts including my main (since beta). No use to continue supporting this game for which I have been loyal all this decade (spending thousands of dollars buying Crown Packs and buying ESO+ on my alternate accounts too). I will continue playing until my ESO+ ends shortly. Perhaps someone can suggest which add-ons should I use to make inventory management less painful when my subscription ends.

    Sadly I am going to cancel my ESO plus sub on my main account because of this. Obviously it's not a priority for ZOS to address this issue. At least it's Free to Play so I won't be high and dry!

    You can use Junkbuster + Personal Assistant. Its the perfect combo. Just configure Junkbuster to burn everything that costs less than 5k/ stack because basically everything in the game is just trash for making pressure in your mind to continue paying ESO +. You don't want to lose time putting low price stuff for sale nor keeping things you think you need and can just go there and buy it when needed.
    Create profiles for storage certain types of items for each character and the addon will grab or put them into the bank. Free your mind. I've already cancelled mine. And will not buy the new expansion.

    I know people that never got their accounts locked for crown gifting. They had no need to beg for it in a ticket. It is so sad to see they are choosing their customers. Probably if I lived in USA and bought 500k crowns for exchanging into gold for buying carries Zos would care for me.

    @Aorys I am in the US and it hasn't helped me at all. Now, mind you, I haven't bought 500K to exchange for gold though, LOL.

    Edited to Add: @ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_GinaBruno you are losing ESO Plus members over this. Any thoughts on a plan to address this subcategory of players i.e. Legitimate Owners of mulitple accounts?

    As stated in my earlier comment, at one time I had every intention of playing these two accounts equally so I had two ESO plus membership. Sadly, life happened and my plans changed AND I forgot to shutdown my second ESO plus account.

    I never really interact w/ the website so had to request a forum invite to make a account to reply to this as I am console bound now.

    I am a solo player and always have been but also have been playing eso on an off since 2018 up until January (gold road preview which I pre ordered) so I never had the need to gift anything but after playing a lot I started bragging to my friends who are in Aus about it and brought them in and I promised a friend I'd get them the necromancer to make our playtime better well come to find out I am not able to gift. I thought I hadn't bought enough so I got ESO+ and a 1500 crown pack thinking that should unlock but nope apparently it's being active and in a community but I've been active so I'm not sure how it works I don't care for crown trading or the store I just want to gift my friend the necromancer nothing else.

    So on the plus side, and to be polite - will thank ZoS and customer service for finally coming through. My crown gifting redemption email arrived the other day - after ~two weeks of waiting, filing initial request ticket, auto denied, file another reply, get denied with mention of appeal, so file the appeal - then wait while apparently someone actually human takes manual look at actual account/situation.

    Happily surprised to see the code redemption email other day - oddly, looks almost exactly like a twitch drop or freebie redemption code email alert - e.g.

    Like many ppl posting above - I'm ~10 year ESO player, with only few breaks in between. So call it at least 8+ years of non-stop ESO+ subscriptions, purchased every single chapter (including all collector's editions), 12k+ hours on steam played, and have 2nd account which also subs to ESO+ and buys all-in-one collections about every other chapter. e.g. skipped last release, but just bought Necrom complete collection to catch up on missing High Isle for 2nd account.

    TLDR - with 8+ years of non-stop billing history every month, 10+ total time, 12k+ hours played, and recent last ~5-6 months of almost never missing a day of play - got same auto email on first request ticket to enable crown gifting --> e.g.

    "Your account must show consistent game play activity and/or be active in an in-game ESO community prior to submitting your application to be considered for eligibility to participate in the ESO gifting program."

    There is no way someone human actually processed this reply, because it would be beyond extreme to deny for 'consistent game play activity' an account with ~40 hrs/weekly for last 5-6 months AND 8-10 years of no negative action billing history AND ESO+ subscriber AND owns every chapter zos has ever sold.

    Fortunately, the appeals process worked, but took as I said ~two weeks from start to finish - from initial ticket request, denials, appeal, wait, finally get the unlocked gifting redemption code email. To which i promptly spent 5k crowns and bought my 2nd account a decon assistant.

    I am getting a little confused now. The second ticket I filed has been "closed as duplicate". Duplicate of what? The first ticket I filed was marked as "Closed by Customer" when in fact that is untrue and I never closed that ticket. So I filed a new one and now that was "Closed as Duplicate"

    What is going on here? I'd really appreciate it if someone could straighten this out so that I can actually have a ticket stay open for more than 24 hours

    Just keep using the first ticket and ignore the closed state. If they don't want you to use that ticket, I figure they will let you know. :smile:

    I sold some Crowns (PC-EU) about a month ago without a problem. I play daily though I had a year plus break until Black Friday 2023.

    I am not trying it now though, since I have enough gold for the moment. No close friends to gift anything to either, but I am wondering if I would now be unable to do that? (The gifting, with or without the gold.)

    I never tried to get permission ahead of time.

    I'm not a GM, but your post has all the other details I'd post to gripe about for my rejection the other day.
    I daily writ almost every day with 13 'toons (on one of several alt accounts) as well as general overland questing and delves/dungeons on that account..

    They'll take our ESO+ sub money, but tell us we don't seem to be playing enough in the robotic canned response that clearly wasn't preprogrammed with the ability to even access our accounts for any evidence of fulfilling the minimum requirements they demand.

    I feel demeaned as an active participant in a game I pay monthly funds for, by a cheap robot app.
    That took almost a month to reply to me and deny my request based on conditions I clearly satisfy.
    Maybe I don't really need alt accounts and additional ESO+ subs after all.

    Despite the fact that I accidentally read this as "Crown Store Grifting" lol, this is actually really good news. I tend to play this with my wife and my son every now and then. I really like gifting things to them. Usually pets or mounts. For example, my son is a dinosaur nerd and really wanted the Speckled Guar mount, so I gifted it to him. He called it "a raptor". I also gifted my wife the wedding dress costume before we did the pledge of Mara.
