as far as ive heard, right now (barring any changes) you only get drops at all from marauders and the end of arc boss (tho'at)

Alot, but you can also get random pieces with the currency

EDIT: Personally I'd like to see Cycle bosses also drop gear, even if those were random instead of curated.
Atm defeating a Cycle boss is very underwhelming

With that huge of a grind it's amazing that the sets aren't more powerful/interesting than they are.

Agreed. If they introduced a new item slot that could only be filled with class gear, I would be all over this. But alas, I have no motivation to even try it right now when it seems like there are existing 5-pc sets that are just as good if not better.

They could just make them 'Appearance Slot' items - would allow them to keep the (admittedly cool) motifs the class sets have.

Would that introduce power creep? Undoubtedly so, but if the class sets were tweaked a little I wouldn't see a huge issue with it. Could also make it so that they can't be equipped with a Mythic to force players to choose.

It took me over 30 minutes I think. Now that the first arc is nerfed it should take a little less time, but that’s with high dps solo and rng on the bosses can affect things. But yeah, its gonna take ages to get all the class sets unless zos removes some of the trash waves or otherwise shortens an arc.

This is why I was apprehensive when they said the sets would drop in all weights. That can be a good thing, but the rng of drops and completion of the stickerbook is probably gonna be a massive pain for pretty meh sets.

RNG doesnt matter much since we have curation, they will get filled out

problem is quantity of drops is low

maelstrom has 6 non-weapon gear sets, that each have all weapons, but you only get 1 of those drops per run so you need a minimum of around 72 runs to get them all

endless archive right now is turning out to be about the same, with the way its set up, and only getting 5 drops between 2 full arcs, its going to take quite some time to get all 7 gear sets, which since they have all armor sizes would have upwards 36 items each (252 items / 5 items per run to end of arc 2 = 126 runs to arc 2), this is arguably worse than maelstrom right now, though at least you could run with another person who could probably trade you gear if you didnt need it

i dont know the answer to this, but is the gear obtained from the endless archive BOP or BOE (if its BOE then you could sell/buy it, if its BOP then im assuming its only temp tradeable with the other player you are running with)

I think it's kind of hard to say because the run speed will likely depend on if you do it solo/duo and how dps/speed slanted your builds are.

If you are just aiming to get done fast and are going with someone else, Thrassian Stranglers builds might get done with things quite fast.

It's BoP but it drops in a chest. It is tradable with your Duo partner. Wondering if you can invite someone into your group/instance after kill, then loot, and then trade.

You 'probably' can't, ESO's loot rules are pretty clear and you can never trade BoP gear with someone who was not in the group when the item was rolled.

If you want to test you can go to any dungeon, trial or arena currently on the Live server. I'm not 100% on when the items is rolled, but I would assume it rolls when the enemy dies or the chest spawns.

But it could also be when the first player open the container, corpse or chest, like with resource nodes.

I got a random piece at the end of Arc 1 (I think if you optimize it you can run it well below 25-30 mins), and around 1900 of the new currency, which is a bit shy of what you need for buying a random piece from the vendor (the non curated boxes are at 2k, the curated ones are at 15k), so you'd need a second run to buy a box. The second run would drop you another piece, so if the box doesn't give you a duplicate, you'd ideally have 3 pieces by the end of two Arc 1 runs.

They could make the grind 1 hour for a complete set and I still wouldn't set foot in EA unless I mained NB or DK. Sets are terrible.

if its in a chest then it might work similar to DSA/BRP for those that sell those drops

it might make the reward tradeable with whoever was in the instance with you at time of chest opening

I will just use my second account as my duo partner to reduce my run time of getting the sets. Easy as trade.

• Do they still get sets from the chest if they're dead?
• Wouldn't you need to open the chests each boss and run through each portal or does the game force this on the second player when player 1 does it?

so i am only interested in my class's drop, so not only do you have to hope your class drops you have to hope the weight drops too ?

It's curated, you'll always get your class set dropping until you fill it out, then it's random for the other classes.

There is cheap boxes you can buy that aren't curated.

There is more expensive ones that are curated.

Yes, you can get any weight (curated). So you can get 7 pieces of heavy being completely unlucky when you just want light or medium.
