Remove the 100,000 AP/Gold penalty for Abondon Campaign

I understand having a faction lock to keep players playing on one alliance for the duration of a new campaign once they've joined it, but after that campaign is over, which is a whole month later, you should be able to abandon the campaign and play on a different alliance without being penalized 100,000 AP or gold per character.

You are allowed one free campaign change on a new character, but changing a campaign will usually cost you Alliance points to complete. I have characters on all three alliances, and if I want to PvP on one of those other characters, I have to wait a month until the campaign ends and then pay 100,000 AP or gold to abandon that campaign on each character that is currently locked to Gray Host.

Please remove the AP cost to change or abandon campaigns once that campaign has finished.

I have never switched campaigns or colours for minimum two years and if I tried to change the campaign lately on one char, I got this 100K AP message.

Just remove faction lock.

I should never be prevented from playing with FRIENDS in a MULTIPLAYER GAME. The PvP population is low enough as it is.

Can you not just set the character(s) to rehome to, like BR at the end of the campaign? The automatic rehome at end of campaign is free. Wouldn't that then enable you to home a different Alliance character to GH?

Just choose another campaign to home, and it'll give you the option to Set it Now or Set it When the Campaign Ends... choose the second and you're good.

A few months ago for the first time I locked a character to a campaign to try fixing walls to see how it worked to get to level one and get the transmute crystal. At the end of the campaign, I got my reward, but I just assumed that character automatically became unlocked from any campaign. Is that not the case?

I’m not getting that option, when I select Blackreach to be set as my home campaign it says this change will cost 150,000 AP. No option to Set it Now or Set it When the Campaign ends.

I think you can only do that on a new character that hasn’t previously changed home campaigns from Gray Host.

I believe there is a cooldown for switching campaigns, don't remember how long it is. If you are in-game go to Help section... something about it might be in that.

Weird, I've never had that be the only option... I've always just chosen reset when the campaign ends. I don't switch a lot though.

Yeah, just searched the help section and I guess they changed it recently. So weird because I don't think I've ever paid to switch lol.

Yeah, I don't know when they made the change but you used to be able to leave Campaigns and change your Home Campaign without it costing you if you did it when the Campaign ends.
