So I made one other bad assumption comparing working in the office to working from home based on my experience. Social media was just in its infancy and we were expected to be doing work every single minute because we had to fill out timecards and billed the customers for that time, so no social media use while at work. That is no longer the case, so I suppose people can tweet and post things on the forums here from work just as well as from home.

So my whole argument might be invalid for that one reason.

The devs definitely play the game. Or at least some do. One of them even used to stream it.

I'm sure the devs know the difference between weapons and armor.
I say this because a bug which really pi55es me off and has existed for a long time is when you search for companions' weapons...
Not found, because the game thinks that companions' weapons are armor.
Not a game breaking bug but ffs, get it fixed, please.

    Thanks.

I don't want to be negative all the time, but another annoying change...
Suppressing Companions in Favor of Assistants
When you have a Companion out and you summon an Assistant, your Companion will automatically be re-summoned when your Assistant is un-summoned.

    WHY?
It's not a difficult task to summon/unsummon the assistant/companion the player wants.
Now when I dismiss Nuzhimeh, Sharp-As-Night gets re-summoned automatically (which is bad enough as he still won't shut up lol)
The player might want an alternative companion.
The game is making choices for us, which is more annoying than helpful IMO.
    Another change not needed. ;)

    Thanks.

It doesn't summon a companion at random, it literally just resummons the companion that was active befofe you summoned your merchant or whatever.

WIth food buffs dropping off, crashing during trials, trial mechs bugged (frozen tombs in vse), etc etc etc, how did this update become such a disappointment?

Do they test the changes the make before releasing them to us?

At least they didn't give us a new block bug, but still, this update made the game a lot less fun to play.

The more they tinker with the basic code, the more things unintentionally break. And then the changes to fix the changes make other unintended changes. The block bug is a perfect example.

    Then do it.

The mods that were made will have no effect if you are already doing it yourself. You have nothing to complain about.

I can't. The game does it for you. That's why it's not needed because it's easy.

My assumption is they just have a low amount resources dedicated to ESO. Mostly junior developers who can only do the bare minimum for the game like quest content while saving a hand full of experienced developers to handle anything more complex. All other resources ZOS has I would assume are dedicated to [REDACTED].

U39 really reinforces that assumption for me considering almost all bugs fixed were minor quest related fixes such as animations playing at the right time, typos, step progression, etc, while non of the hyped up QOL additions like AIO Attunable Stations or Group Finder were included.

If that is right, I can understand why the PTS has been worthless these days. If a major bug pops up, my assumption would be that they have nobody to fix it since anybody experienced is already knee deep in a future project for this game. And since anybody who would be majorly affected by a major bug only accounts for a small percentage of the player base, I would bet that they let those bugs slide.

I love the game. I have been playing on and off since beta and don't want to see it a bad spot like this, but there just feels like there's no passion left on ZOS's end. And now that gifting is neutered while knowing how ZOS's timelines are, it's really hard to have any bright outlook for the game. I do hope it turns around and gets better, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
