Ravenspire - High king Emeric - Quest seems bugged as icon always above head! - Solution Found!

I am in Rivenspire and an the icon " Talk to High King Emeric in Shorhelm " is still above high king Emeric even after I talk to him. I open the Zone guide and continue zone story but it always points to the King! So now its bugged and cannot continue the story line by this method..

Is there any work around to reset this ?

As you can see in these shots the "Continue Zone Story " points to The king and since the story/quest is stuck I cannot continue using the option " Open Zone Guide " that the Map has as an option if you find yourself lost in what's next in the story!.

Do you have some prologue quests open?

I vaguely remember something, that I had to abort the Ravenwatch Inquiry prologue quest to get things running well in Rivenspire.

Give it a shot and abort it. Log off/on after that doesn't hurt, I guess.

Yeah, prologue quests involving certain recurring characters can get in the way of other mainline or base-game zone quests featuring the same characters. Abnur Tharn in the Elsweyr Prologue, versus the quest to rescue him in the Harborage Main Quest, is another example of that.

This also used to be true of Sai Sahan in the Dragonhold Prologue, versus *his* quests in the Harborage Main Quest, but those things no longer conflict. And, surprisingly, there was never a conflict involving Lyris Titanborn in the Greymoor Prologue, versus the quest to rescue *her* in the Harborage...

However, the position of Verandis Ravenwatch in the Markarth Prologue Quest versus his position in the Rivenspire main storyline definitely *does* cause conflict, so the best solution is to either finish the Markarth prologue, or drop it. I would say that dropping it, and restarting only after fully completing Rivenspire's zone quests, is the better option for story purposes.
