Norwegian letters in chat (PLEASE READ THIS)

We in the norwegian community have trouble writing to eachother and in our guildchats due to the lack of norwegian letters. We are not able to write the letters ØøÆæÅå in the ingame chat window.

I know it will be looked upon as a small issue for you guys, but please fix this.

Are they just not showing up in game?

I've seen some extended characters in game on the NA server in people's names but I've never actually tried using them in chat. I don't have a keyboard capable of them and I'll be damned if I get out a character map.

If the client isn't capable of displaying them then that's got to be an oversight.

These are very common letters in our language, just like ö is common for swedish or german. So it makes it very annoying.

Nothing happends when you type the letters, not even a space is created. It is like my keys for the letters is disabled in chatwindow.

I have a similar issue, if I log into the game with a french keyboard setting, the / key is replaced with é. And there seems to be no way to change in game, I have to log out, change it and log back in. I'm sure people are tired of my char speaking mumbo jumbo like égroup, ézone and éemote cries

Some games there are files that are different. Same client, but it copies over a few different files that it uses, most namely a realmlist for connection information and localization information.

Wasn't sure if that was the case here. Most games that I've played use the exact same client, in the exact same folder but the region select just determines which copy of those files are launched when the game starts.

This game using entirely different copies of the client, eating up double the room, annoys me.

I *had* debated on playing on EU with a friend from Sweden but we decided against it.

It doesn't matter too much being unable to use the letters in zone/group chat, but should at least be able to use them in PMs and perhaps guild chat (if it is a Norwegian-/Scandinavian-only guild)

You should be able to use them anywhere.

I mean I get as annoyed as anyone else when people use them in their names(impossible to spell on a standard NA English keyboard without digging up a character map), but outside the username/password fields(you might remember that one, Nord), there's no reason they shouldn't let you use them in chat.

Yes, I agree there. My point was that myself, I'd only use Norwegian in private chats or in a Norwegian/Scandinavian-only guild chat, but obviously, if they enable the Norwegian letters for that, it'd work in the general chat too.

Aye, Im just against channel restricting because of haters.

I hate when theyre used in names because a) theyre impossible to type on my kb and 2) theyre usually usef by morons that couldnt get their highly popular boring name.

In chat? I could care less.

This needs fixing. I can type Ö & Ä, but not Å, strange that some work and others don't.

Can confirm the same behaviour. The keys Æ, Ø and Å have no effect when pressed in chat.

We have the same issue. We are a small guild from Spain and we cannot use one of our favourites characteres ever when we talk with each other in spanish: ñ.

Because of this, we cannot use correctly words that mean tab, for example, or tomorrow, year, size, damage...

I didn't know we could report this, but I hope they fix this issue with all languages they can

Another norwegian here, and I can agree that this is incredibly annoying. Would appreciate a fix asap. Didnt see any mention in todays patch though. Baaah.

Captial "Æ" seems to be working though.
