Hi, i was wondering regarding two topics.
First off, is raw material botting allowed?
and two why is scammers allowed to spam game chat? They are promoting websites that claim you can buy gold with real life cash, they post it daily, zone chat, shout and say in game chat on both servers
I’m on PS4 NA and have been blocking the same accounts for a specific website (their zone chat message is generally their sales pitch and then saying their url is in their PSN name) since I came back to the game a month or so ago. Never noticed this the last time I played (November 2021).
I wasn’t sure if ZOS had any practice for reporting it, but since I livestream my gameplay for my SO, I tend to have copies of all messages I see, and then screenshot the profiles incase somehow, the information is relevant/can be reported later. This might sound extra but people have been insinuating that the people behind these accounts do more than just gold selling which I’m not taking lightly.
In any case, on the subject of material farming, if the account is multi-botting, it’s not allowed. IIRC, if they’re using any sort of keybind or program to allow them to go from node to node without taking damage/fighting/etc which keeps them on the path they’re on and they never deviate from it, then it’s possibly also against the TOS. Though, I could just be thinking that latter bit is about using programs like such in WOW — I spent 13 years in that game, and the crossover between TOS and such is a blur lol.
Since the latter just stay to the newb zones (Khenarthi’s Roost, Stros M’Kai, Bleakrock) I just let it go now because there’s no point in reporting them on the PS4, since we don’t have a way to do so. I thought there was a way back when I was on PC but I’m not sure.
TLDR: No, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to report it and with PS4/PS5, all they have to do is create a new PSN account if the first one gets banned and they’ll still have access to the game, as you can share your PSN games with other PSN accounts on your primary console.

CP: 873 |CURRENTLY: Slowly dipping my toes into PVP while helping my SO level her first few toons. (Edited 8/23/2023) PLAYED SINCE: PC/Mac beta, then February 7, 2014 (PC) before moving to PS4 NA from July 28, 2015 where I’ve remained.
reporting will usually get them removed, but a double edged sword is how easy it is to get another account
even if the RMT spammers lose an account to a ban, if they are making enough money they could still see it as profitable enough to buy another account to continue spamming
its even easier to get free accounts on console with the xbox gamepass, and im sure a boatload made free accounts when it was free on the epic store for a week on PC
i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them
