When you deal damage with a damage over time effect, you apply a stack of Blight Seed to your target for 5 seconds. At 20 stacks, Blight Seed explodes, dealing 1565 Disease Damage to the target and nearby enemies, plus an additional 30% per enemy hit, up to 180%, scaling off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage. You can only trigger one explosion every 0.5 seconds. An enemy can only have one instance of Blight Seed at a time.

The recap seems to indicate you might have been in a group of your own when you were "faced with multiple attackers..." in order to receive the amount of damage you got per the Azureblight tooltip. But how dare an organized group use a set as intended.

individually those hits werent a lot, like ~3500-4000 per explosion, you just got hit with this explosion a lot (and the dmg ramps up the more people around you so, kind of a plaguebreak like set)

you got hit by a total of 20 explosions from 4 different people, but thats the annoying thing about the base game death recap, it just stacks similar cause of dmg so theres no way to tell if this happened in like a short or long period of time

for example if you had a 20 min long fight and someone proc'd the same thing on you 40 times, it would still show 40x on the death recap if you died even though you werent hit 40 times all at once, just the cumulative dmg from that source for the duration of the fight

Sounds like you were packed in tight, which can be unavoidable in keeps. The confusion I had with your original post was that Azureblight is a great counter to the zerg and can be effective with an organized group of 8-12 players with only 4 or 5 players running it.

"New zerg set confirmed" is what he said. Hes trying to pretend like this is a set used by zergs against solo players. This is a set used by solo players against zergs. Its very ineffective against solo players because you have to have 20 dot ticks to do 3k damage. Probably one of the worst xv1 proc sets in the game.

Not trying to pretend anything lol look at my post afterwards genius and read its not hard. Yes I'm a ballgroup player I've never denied that once. And you can see that clearly from my previous comments on other posts.

Nice job trying to start hate tho, you'll get better with practice.

Anyways back on topic. When a group of 4-5 players use this with nothing but dots on their bars the procs go off on cd. I was commenting on the fact that this will hurt the ballgroups (which is what 90% of posts concerning ballgroups wanted) so I was commenting that the public got what they wanted. Far better then plaguebreak imo. Not really a good set for a organized group as you would need far to many people running it to really be effective in group play. Once the general population sees the effectiveness burst healing will become far more prevalent in groups over hots is my guess

Just because it's a channel doesn't mean it wouldn't proc Azureblight - it's still DoT damage.

I think of a dot as something that is applied once , then continues to hit the person over time. Whereas the beam is a channeled direct damage-- if you step out of the beam it doesn't continue to damage over time. Could easily be tested, though, the standards arent exactly airtight!

jabs or flurry are considered channeled direct dmg, because its a series of direct hits (these used to be counted as dots for a lot of things and did used to proc azureblight)

the beam is definitely considered a dot though, similar to jesus beam, its just not tethered to a target

EDIT: Did Masters Maces and Vate Frost just get 100x better? lol

azureblight has always stacked as fast as dots tick (every dot tick is 1 stack), with the update they added the explosion cooldown of half a second (it used to be cooldown per target on adding stacks after the explosion)

in a way it kind of made it stronger because while the explosion cannot go off simultaneously, a half of a second cooldown + scaling explosion arguably make it better for dealing with large mobs, assuming you can reach 20 stacks in a reasonable amount of time

i dont know if the vateshran proc can add stacks, since that would be a proc procing a proc, the dual wield skill ticks way too slow to build azureblight fast enough to make it tick in a reasonable amount of time

azureblight historically was never really good in pvp because purging removed all of the stacks, so it was almost impossible to reach 20 stacks before either the target died or it was purged

if the blight seed debuff it applies stacks from multiple players, it could be way easier to hit 20 stacks, more people wearing it would be like a force multiplier

with the way they changed it, and as described in this post, it actually is pretty anti-ball group of a lot of enemy players are wearing it
