    It's already gone beyond that.

I skipped buying the chapter this year. I thought last year's was light on (worthwhile) new content, so I wasn't super eager for this year.... then they skimp on the DLC for these laughable QoL and bug fixes (what QoL upgrades?).

Apart from anything else I'd expect the company to fix bugs for free, and not take away DLC for them. It's an admission we were sold rubbish, and yet are expected to pay again to fix it...

So I skipped a chapter, and I don't feel like I missed out. I might buy the chapter next year, assuming they roll this chapter into the next.

But honestly, at the moment if ZoS don't start inspiring me I can see that I'll lose interest (and I've been playing continuously since beta), and gradually slip away.

This "chapters" business plan only works if they are CHAPTERS!!!

I am not seeing how this is better than the old way. A new chapter comes out then basically nothing for a year? (Yes, I know “endless dungeon” and two new dungeons. Great…)

Why stay subbed? This chapter even has less to do then previous ones.

I had assumed this year they were just trying to get out of the way of “Starfield”, but if this is the new cadence of content, this is just awful.

I guess in the future it will be: buy the chapter, get eso+ for a month or two, then just do other stuff for the rest of the year.
Suddenly fallout 76 seems like a better game to be subbed to… Unbelievable.

Agreed, this has made ESO plus less worth it now.

Agreed also. Which is what I said from the very beginning of "we're not going to do year long chapters any more."

its more value to me lol, instead of using my sub crowns buying dlc in the case i ever needed to drop eso+ i can put it towards something else, and we still got a lot of stuff in this patch that i believe was really needed because they were trying to force out new content 4 times a year

I hate those dungeons that tie in to main storyline especially I don't play the DLC dungeons due to their mechanics/difficulty. I have to resort to reading dialogues and scripts from UESP or watching dungeon story walkthroughs on YouTube to get an idea of the plot.

Honestly, having a Trial just drop as a Q1 or 3 instead of 2 dungeons would be nice as well.

I prefer game-wide systems and if they need more time to work on the q4 updates then so be it. Endless Dungeon Runner sounds like it'll be better than what any singular dungeon DLC will do for the game so as long as going forward they keep introducing new endless systems and things to do in the game then I'm happy with the way things are... Plus less of a reason to require ESO+ as now I can just buy the one dlc a year with gold from some crown seller.

Endless dungeon sounds half assed. Any enemy in the game can spawn. lazy solution imo

I will miss the dungeons as well, although from the game developers standpoint they may have felt like they already have a substantial library of dungeons and it was getting a little daunting(not undaunted) for new players.

I think for me, and possibly others as well, the dungeons became a kind of endgame. I don’t do trials because the twelve player group thing just doesn’t appeal to me. I have gone through periods where I really enjoyed battlegrounds but every new iteration seems to make that less enjoyable.

Contrary to what many players have said in these forums I really enjoyed Bastion Nymic. Maybe because it is basically a four player dungeon, but I think that was the focus of a lot of complaints.

As a soloist, my 'end game' is non-DLC group dungeons on normal and non-DLC WBs. I can't solo the DLC versions so totally ignore DLC WBs and dungeons. I know I'm in a minority but I could care less about DLC dungeons. And, of course, I don't even know how to spell tryals. ;)

The U39 QoL perk of dropping FG dailies to one instead of three was welcome, but the lightning staff nerf (and it most certainly was a nerf) was not. The perk of resummoning my companion after putting Gillie the Grinder away sounds nice but summoning Mirri after talking to Gillie is just as easy as dismissing Gillie to get to the same result.

But they can't have finished all the QoL/bug updates with u39 right?

I mean I get so many crashes when I do Battlegrounds and the lag is still really bad. I see the icons of my skills move when I press the key but nothing happens in game?
I have reduced my playtime in this game alot this year since due to the bad performance... I mostly PVP and it is in a terrible state now.

It'll be nice to play Starfield for a while and take a break from ESO and try it again when Q4 updates have been done.

I was going to be ok with losing the new dungeons if they actually fixed some real bugs, but it seems this update had more bugs than it fixed, so it was a near total waste. I don't really know what the devs spent their time on besides some surface level fixes.

I think what was truly disappointing was that there was no need NOT to have the Q3 dungeons with what we got. What the majority of us assumed was that there would be an incredible amount of bug fixes, which there were (albeit missing most of the most complained about bugs) AND some AWESOME QOL features. Stacking items from the crown store is not exactly what I had in mind for QOL features. It just makes ya wonder and simultaneously hope to god that Q4 blows us away, because Q3 QOL features are currently using some sort of invisibility potion

I know a lot of people complained about the year-long story cadence, but I was not one of those people. I enjoy the stories and lore. Even though I don't play DLC dungeons, at least I could read or watch the story out of game. And I'll really miss the Q4 zone DLC.

I don't think it's a bad idea to have a new system update (although I doubt the endless dungeon will be my cup of tea), but we got new systems in the past along with story content. And while bug fixes and QOL improvements are welcomed, I don't know that what we got during this Q3 update makes up for missing the usual DLC. Maybe it's just my playstyle, but update 39 didn't really affect me or improve my experience in any noticeable way.

Maybe I'll feel differently next year if the QOL changes and the new system are more me, but right now I'm missing the old cadence.

Honestly, I won't miss them at all after thinking about it. It's just too much to keep up with, especially if I ever want to finish my stickerbook for them. There's so many sets in the game already, so I don't think it's good to add more on top of that.

i wont miss it at all. We have a ridiculous amount of sets in this game. More dungeons means more sets. The new roadmap is much better imo, but to each their own.

    Greetings,

This thread has been moved to the Dungeons, Trials & Arenas section, as it is better suited there.

    Thank you for your understanding.
