there are a lot of synergies which would use an update on targeting though, trapping webs (and morphs) synergy, soul tether synergy etc

Visible borders such as Agony Totem.
You are talking about else. I’m saying that the synergy should be visible, like that of the same Agony Totem: a tombstone sticks out there = the player sees this synergy and can activate it or just come closer and activate it, and not just ignore the Fulminating Rune.

the agony totem synergy is not based on you being near the totem, and that skill itself has the visible area, you do not have to be in that area to trigger the synergy, you can actually be a bit outside of it and still get the synergy
what im saying is that the synergy itself still does not have a telegraph area, and it is not the same as the base skill
i also referenced many other skills which have synergies that do require targets, that have 0 telegraphs that the synergy is even available
for example the trapping webs synergy, you definitely do not have to be in the area but the enemy does, and you have to be targeting the enemy to get it to work (so its never even clear something can trigger except when you briefly see the synergy pop up) (this synergy is far far harder to trigger than the rune synergy)
it would be nice if synergies did have a little more obvious activation cues or where/when you could trigger certain synergies because its not consistent on the ranges for the synergies
