Something said a lot in the patch notes is that something has been "reigned in".
It's meant to be a riding metaphor, about a horse's reins; you "rein in" a horse to slow it down. It's not about royalty ruling, or "reigning".
This a common eggcorn, which causes unbridled annoyance when allowed free rein.
