    But you are still wrong.

ESO target audience is introverts and people who really hate other people. It's unsuitable and shows well with people not okay with losing half tal var in imperial city.

ESO makes it's mark in the market because it's solo player friendly.

But you could always go play Fallout 76.
Open world PVP and if your still feeling felonious after you kill them and take half their caps you can go blow up their home with a nuke.
    What fun.

I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

    Well not 100 % true...

Your Idea has a fatal Flaw.. instead of 200 - 300 Gold

You should be able to steal 100 to 500 Crowns!

If they don't have crowns then you steal their CP.

If they don't have CP then you steal something from their Inventory Or EQ.

Your idea is bad because it has two major flaws. The first one is that you seem to think that your idea of fun is also fun for everybody else. The second flaw is, that it it is always a bad idea to force other players into a certain activity if they don't want that.
If you lust log in for 10 minutes to get your dailies done before the server is going down for maintenance, you certainly don't want to waste your time fighting with some clown over 100 gold for the lulz. Enhance your idea with a pickpocket-flag that players can toggle on and off and you might get some more positive replies.

Well having players collect bounty is often suggested and giving criminal minded players who opt in ability to pickpocket and BoW opt in vigilantes would be fair. Problem of empty pockets on both sides could be solved by adding it to tax collected from earned gold. But I do not see how to make sneaking close enough to pick / BoW work fairly for both sides. Real world pickpockets (and assassins) are not invisible and still can make a living.
No, I myself would not opt in that kind of PvP. And I do not think it would be popular enough for the dev work.

There would have to be an absurd number of limitations on it.

    1) how would people catch you? A majority of players are in permanent 3rd person mode, and can see you. Would you need to be completely invisible? Would their character make a visible and audible cue to indicate they were being robbed? How, exactly, would it work?
    2) if caught there needs to be an option for duel, or call the guards, and the sneaky thief gets a bounty either way . The option to call the guards would see several guards coming over ready to nuke you.
    3) for this reason, it would have to be restricted to towns where there are guards, and you cannot target people who are activelyin dialog with an NPC, or interacting with a furnishing station.
    4) Gold capped at 500, and never more than 5% of a player's currently carried gold, also cannot attempt to steal more gold than you are carrying yourself
    5) needs to be a toggle, like a reverse of the setting that disables your ability to target innocents, something that makes your outline of a player shown up in white or something and marks you as someone who wants to get up to trouble.

I know people who would love this, would hang out around towns in dueling gear trying to egg people into sneaky duels via pickpocketing. I don't care if it gets added to the game as long as I have the option to NEVER participate.

While I think it’s a bad idea to make PvP in PvE areas, it would be interesting if someone tried to pickpocket my favorite thief build.

If you go back to this thread from Jan 2016, there was considerable favour for the PVP Justice system. It had all the details sorted & was seemingly the way the Justice system was going to be. For their own reasons that were never really specified, it was not added to the game & we got the PVE justice system that is currently on live.
Pretty interesting to see the marked differences from that thread to this one! :D Kinda shows that most PVP players have left ESO for better PVP experiences.

Yes, but only if the other player can choose a punishment for you if you're caught. Like either execution or cutting off your right hand so you can't pickpocket and suffer a nasty debuff for a few days until it grows back (video game logic). Something to make you think twice unless you're supremely confident in your thieving skills, rather than you being untouchable just because you're a pvp main and your victims aren't.

I just want to burgle my "friend's" houses. Let us be able to loot from all their wardrobes, desks, etc like we can in the game proper, for the same loot drops. Heck you might even see more people get into housing then - so that they can provide goodies for their friends.

I don't think it would work. Years ago when the Justice system was introduced ZOS did look at adding a PvP component but they could never find a setup that didn't have obvious flaws one side or the other could take advantage of.

For example how would you successfully pickpocket players who are in 3rd person? Even if you're behind them they'll see you coming and turn around. Or anyone else around could warn them. Even if stealth hides you that would mean finding someone on their own so you can go into stealth and approach them without being seen by other players, which means it's only really practical in specific places like rarely visited delves or remote areas of maps so you're basically stuck waiting for some newbie who hasn't done that area yet to come past.

Then as other people have mentioned either the target or (more likely) the thief could avoid losing any gold by making sure they put it all in the bank before they start, so if they lose the inevitable duel they don't have to pay anything (or at least no more than the stole).

You may as well suggest an option to put a wager on a duel (which players can already do using the trade system) because that's what it's going to come down to in practice.

You already have the option to duel anyone, anywhere, unless they've opted out by disabling duelling invites.

I think most people who want to duel go to a few specific locations because otherwise it can be hard to find people who haven't disabled it, but technically it is possible anywhere. (And the fact that so many people have it disabled implies it's not actually that popular.)

    I think this idea would flourish for these changes;

No PvP minigame (armory assistant would be a must)
Pickpocketing steals "fake" money that isn't taken from the player.
Failing to pickpocket a player would alert all the guards in the 60m radius.

    Hey

Can you please let us Pickpocket other Players? Lets say a Cap of 100-300 Gold per Day and if they catch you, you must PvP them. And if you loose they get their Gold back plus 200% from the Amount stolen from your Pocket.

    Would be fun

    Thx
You're either 85 days too late or 281 days too early with this proposal... In that spirit, how about being able to plan a group heist and steal gold from a competing guild bank? Why not allow PVP'ers loot some gear and gold of players they killed? Let's make it possible to burgle furnishings from other people's homes!

However, if you fail your account is blocked from the game for 6 months, while your character sits out a virtual prison sentence...
