Necrom Furnishing Plan Farming is Busted

So of all the purple furnishing plans I farm daily on all 9 of my toons I have gotten something like 40 banners and wood carvings, 12 vanilla furnishings and 3 actual Necrom/Apocrypha furnishing plans. This absolutely needs to change. It makes farming for plans impossible. I have had to sell 15 or so banners at 1000-3000 a pop. These are purple furnishings from a new DLC. Meanwhile the other ones are going for millions. This is how you prevent people from getting furnishing plans even though they put in the effort and time to farm them.

I'm having this exact problem as well. 90 percent of the necrom purples I get are the same few banners and sometimes wood carvings

Same with the blue tier of plan

This isn't a players helping players issue, something is up with the drop rates

Thank you for posting this, same issue here. I thought it was just my bad RNG, though I did notice 99% of the necrom furnishing plans on the guild traders all all banners!

It surely does not help that banners are useless for most players.
Why should one need to hang six different banners in a room, some just different in size? I surely won't use my hard earned crafting mats to craft those.
So as a player I'll rather buy other furniture plans for my gold. That leaves the banners piling up in the guild stores....

I really feel like they're taking a dump on the housing community with how these drops work. I don't understand why either.

I tested it and yeah, the loot table seems to prioritize banners. This is what I got over a few days:

However, I am glad that we at least have a farming spot in this chapter.

You know what? I think that's not busted, but banners are just common for URNS and since most people farm Sailenmora Crypts, than this is how it is. I look for every container while normally playing and from non-urn furnitures (chests, drawers, etc) or bags I got mainly non-banner recipes.

Yeah most of it is cool but every now and again they get a wild hair and suddenly make something's drops really messed up. Like impossible. Or they will make it so that they drop less and less as time goes on and eventually they just stop.

Look at my 3-day haul. I tried farming urns other places today. Same result. Does anyone have a good farming spot that doesn't involve urns or fishing? I am talking backpacks, drawers, cabinets, etc.

After two weeks of opening urns, furniture and backpacks while questing in the new zones I have found only one new furnishing blueprint. It came out of one of Azandar's portfolios. I'm quite disappointed by that. How am I supposed to furnish the new inn room?

I've only been playing on console 2.5 days now, but the drop rate on plans overall is pretty low for sure. I think this time with Galen and High Isle, I had to have dropped 20 or so plans. So far with Necrom, 2. 1 green, and 1 blue plan. Did drop a painting that sold for some decent gold. But all in all, the plans themselves are very elusive. And I have looted every urn and backpack and container I've seen.

So it's fishing in apocrypha. I would slot the fishing CPs and get an Atreum Packed Fish Broth eaten. What you are looking for is folios, not wet gunny sacks. I would slot the homemaker CP as well. Wait until 24 hours after the character got a furnishing plan for best results and rotate characters every time you get a new one. The folios only drop 2 gold and one purple (the apocrypha lamp) but idk if hey can drop anything else with Homemaker. If you are low cp than the fishing ones take priority.

DISREGARD! I answered my own question. You do NOT need Azandar active in order to get folios from fishing!

There’s no cooldown on getting the furnishing plans from apocrypha fishing. I opened ten apocryphal folios (or whatever they’re called) that I fished up in a row and got two gold and one purple plan. It’s just rng.

Gah my Argonian was trying to be respectful and not open urns of the dead and now I have to wonder how many furnishing plans got missed.

Rubbish RNG as usual. I've easily opened 45-50 folios from fishing and have gotten 1 gold and 1 purple furnishing plan. I've also opened 75-80 of the Azandar folios and have only gotten 2-3 green furnishing plans.

I noticed that when the double furnishing drop CP procs on it it will give you whatever you are getting of the 3 that can come from it and a GREEN. So either a gold and a green or a purple and a green. Did they change how that proc works because I also get a green when it procs on a blue from urn farming? If so it's def not worth it anymore. I hate how ZoS seems to hate the housing community which is by far their biggest customer of crowns.

I noticed that too - earlier you get same double with same color and now it looks like that is uses whole pool, which will be green in 95%. When purple is so rare that's almost impossible to get two purples in a row. With 10% chance to even get a double this perk becames compeltely useless.

From the patch notes:

101 new furnishing plans, which can be obtained from monsters, containers, and more across the Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha.

If there are 101 new furnishing plans, then why are we all pulling the same handful of purple and blue banners over and over again? If I farm with 10 characters per day, then I'm seeing 8-9 of those characters pulling the blue/purple banner plans, and the 10th is pulling an old vanilla plan. Drop rates are definitely skewed towards the banners. Is this intentional?
