Necrom has messed up psyjic portal drops?

I had quite a couple of psyjic portals that had just some runes in them, no other items.
As there were other portals *with* other items, this can't be a general problem, maybe a borked drop table?

I think Necrom has messed up other drops, also. The 2 Necrom CE treasure maps I used had barely anything in them worth keeping, hardly "treasure" at all.

I agree that it sounds like another player just took what they wanted and left the rest.

Hate to admit it, but sometimes I do that with thieves troves. If there is nothing interesting inside, I just take the gold and leave the rest. >:)

I do think it would be an idea for them to rework chests etc so that the chest is treated as empty even if people take only some of its contents. The problem with thieves troves is that, because the items are marked stolen, you can't just dump them on a merchant. You have to faff around either laundering them or destroying them one by one. So many people are only going to loot the contents that suit rather than empty the whole trove and deal with the junk later.

I think it's not a matter of "stuff being left behind", as the Necrom areas are not very populated right now and the portals were in rather remote areas; even the chests are usually present (which is nice).

If is a matter of a gremlin picking and choosing what to loot from the portal is a very industrious gremlin.

Found three today, all of them contained just runes.

CE maps are unfortunately like that no?

CE treasure maps work that way and here's the reason:
The Collector’s Edition (CE) Treasure Maps, by design, will never provide any pieces of an item set. The treasure they provide, and the locations they lead to, are wholly different from what you find from Treasure Maps acquired in-game, which do provide set item pieces. These things were true from the game’s launch, through One Tamriel.

We want players to be on an equal footing when it comes to their ability to acquire gear and power, regardless of their purchases. The CE Treasure Maps are intended for new players, who’ve only just begun the game: they provide a few non-set items to help an under-geared player be sure they have some non-white items to equip. From there, we encourage players to obtain higher-quality items, and set items, by playing the game.

Actually the Necrom/Apocrypha CE chests I opened each had one piece of the overland sets: so on PC EU, I got Adamant Lurker Gauntlets, Camonna Tong Amulet, and Vivec's Duality Shield; on PC NA, Adamant Lurker Helm, and Vivec's Duality Amulet and Vivec's Duality Resto Staff.

So either I'm just VERY lucky, or the above statement is no longer true - or someone blew the loot tables. The CE chests are the only ones I've opened there; I've only scryed (but not dug yet) a couple of antiquities (one on each server - the leads for which also came out of the CE chests); and I've done no quests, nor harvested very much so far.

Same thing happened to me. Only got runes (4 different types). Sounds like a bug and not people leaving stuff behind, because usually you get 3-5 items from a portal, and that's what I got, except they were all runes.

I think there have been several updates in the past where zones were added and psijic portals had these same minimal loot tables, so it's not that surprising that it happened again.

All 3 portals I opened yesterday had nothing by runes. Either I'm unlucky and I just happened to run across 3 portals that someone else had cherry-picked, or the loot tables have changed.

the only issue ive noticed with the psijic portals is that they are usually missing the set gear item

i compared what ive gotten on avg from portals in telvanni to portals in other zones and the main thing i notice thats missing is the set gear item

It would seem so. Unless I just really was extremely lucky or the devs blew the loot tables.

I'd be happy enough with a rune-only Psijic portal if it contained a Hakeijo! :) I got a Hakeijo twice before from a portal, but the drop rate is almost 0.

It's somewhat standard that new zones don't have gear drops in psijic portals. It was always like that, but no clue why.

I would guess that they didn't want people who paid for the Summerset DLC or ESO+ to get more new gear than those who didn't, to avoid any possible PTW discussions.

I got 1 overland set piece out of each of my Necrom CE treasure maps.

The older ones in the past though never had any just random non set pieces of gear usually blue or green quality.

Or is it maybe specific to the new areas? Because I farm portals in Summerset and didn't notice any difference. I even got several pairs of Kuta within the last days.

I've been so disappointed by the necrom drops that I don't even loot the containers fully.

Players without ESO+ will also not fully loot psijic portal runes when they are so cheap to get anyways, and looting all runes will only clutter inventory.

They can work to solve this issue by adding achievements to the game to fully loot containers.

Lot's of new toons that haven't upgraded their backpack/mount's carrying capacity yet so inventory space still limited?
