"Sliding" effect when changing direction in Necrom patch

After today's patch, I noticed a "sliding" effect like my character was on Ice skates when changing direction. It is more noticeable at higher speeds and when mounted. When I change directions I will have additional momentum carrying me in the direction I was going, and a slow re-acceleration in the direction I am now facing. I updated the windows client and ran it in Parallels to confirm this was only happening with the Mac client. I am running on a m1 Max macbook pro. Makes any precise movement and pvp in particular very difficult. I tried playing with some in game settings then completely deleted my usersettings.txt file to see if it was just a misconfiguration issue.

I noticed this too, 2017 intel iMac. It seems like sudden/fast mouse movements now result in huge camera overcorrections, and my character seems to "fishtail" a bit trying to navigate.

I might try removing and re-adding ESO in the security & privacy accessibility & input monitoring settings to see if that helps before I log in next.

I'm seeing the same, more noticeable the faster you go.

Possibly related to their resolution change? I am surprised I didn't need to remove/re-add ESO to System Preferences > Accessibility to prevent the spinning room syndrome after the update; usually that's a must.

Noticing the same issue also. On a 2023 Mac mini with an M2 Pro running the latest version of macOS Ventura

Same here. MacBook Pro 14 M1 Max. Everything was very smooth prior to the patch. Also, it's not only running / riding. It also affects general controls - like LAW, and abilities. Feels like it puts keyboard / mouse events into some "queue" and then resolves with a delay. Almost impossible to tank for example.

Same here, annoying bug. But I'm worried about if they will leave it alone like other bugs before.

Same, on M1 pro. Filed a bug report. Hopefully we see a fix since, based on this thread, looks like it's affecting both intel and the new arm architecture.

... the game is starting to be playable, on an external 4K screen by setting the resolution to 1080, got max 56fps on a MacBook Pro 16 M1 MAX. Mouse control is a little less erratic, but imperfect. And there's still, a bit, the sliding effect with a mount !

This bug is really annoying and starts getting me really sick if I decide to right through the country side.
Supported Mac Intel here by the way.

There definitely must have been a change with queuing keyboard command. I also had to disable the double tap to dodge option I was using for years. Since Necrom it started making me dodge erratically while simply running in the cities.

Just wanted to follow up here. We do have this issue in with our dev team. They are looking into any possible fixed for Macs at the moment. If you have any additional information to share that might help in the investigation, please let us know in this thread. Thanks!

Same issue on intel mac. I don't have the Necrom DLC, but this started to occur after the big patch. I've fallen off a couple of bridges (and yes I'm laughing as I type this, because there is some slapstick comedy involved here), and the drifting occurs in all regions.

I'm playing on a macbook air m1 and everything was working fine until last patch. Since necrom update i'm experiencing the
sliding character issue when changing direction (even when mounting) and it's unplayable. Also, i noticed that there are some issues with the resolution because when i lower it ( i don't use maximum resolution so performances are better) , it's like the open world adapts to the resolution change but the skill bar, chat, menu etc don't (they still remains at the maximum resolution which is 2k, so to get a full adaptation i should use 2k resolution, having a big impact on performances). This is not a mac arm problem, it's happening to all macs from what other people wrote here, even intel based macs, and from what i've heard it's something that happened even on windows some time ago. Hopefully we get a fix!

I'm also getting this effect on a 2017 Intel MacBook Pro, but my sister (on ye olde 2013 MacBook Pro) is not. EDIT: Never mind, yes she is. Her mount speed is just so slow she didn't notice lol.

Also, I don't know if this is helpful at all, but it seems to be worse on mounts regardless of speed. I can always get a mounted character to slide farther than one on foot, even if the one on foot is moving faster than the mount.

I can report I am also having this issue on an M1 iMac. Chatting with guildies both in-game and discord, no one else reporting - all PC or console users. It does happen unmounted too - I have the ring of wild hunt on my gatherer/crafter which gives a big run speed boost, so he skates around too at full tilt, though not as bad as mounted. Nice to see @ZOS_Kevin reporting that it is logged and actually being investigated.

It definitely seems to be speed related. I generally like to jog(?) everywhere-- whatever the speed between a slow walk and a sprint is called-- and I didn't notice this on my MacBook Air last night while jogging around. But a few nights ago when I was sprinting or riding my mount the sliding effect was very noticeable.

I'm having the same exact issue with steering after the Necrom update. It makes using a mount nearly impossible unless you're running in a straight line. I am using an Intel Mac and this hasn't been an problem until the Necrom update.

Not only a matter of repeated key stroke. It also happens while your stand still and cast spells or try to interact with an object

I read about the problem and decided to have some fun with fishtailing.
I fishtailed myself off a slim bridge over water.

Yesterday I figured out how much to overcorrect to "correct" myself.

It's like driving a pickup truck on a slick road and doing sharp turns.
