Helmet Deleted With Hide Helmet Option

I have the hide helmet option turned on. Then I made a helmet and equipped it. I then checked my character to see what other armour I need to update, only to see that my helmet is now gone from my character as in not hidden but deleted. This is a terrible bug that hide helmet option results in your helmet being deleted. So…
