I'll never pre-order anything from ZoS or Bethesda anymore. I'm still debating whether I even want to continue ESO+ this year because I feel like I don't get enough value from it.

That said, while I would love to see Apocrypha and its Lovecraftian aesthetic, I'm afraid that is the only point to buying the new chapter. Sure, Arcanist class looks cool and crafted sets are marginally interesting, but in the case of the Arcanist it is kind of unorthodox for Elder Scrolls to preface the protagonist already in servitude of a Daedric Prince, regardless of said prince's perceived moral alignment. We all know Arcanist will get nerfed later on anyway like any other class so why even bother.

Content-wise, there is nothing new per say for our existing characters, the chapter does not bring new combat skill lines for existing classes. The mythics are always intriguing but then inevitably get nerfed or marginalized, so it just feels like you are being suckered into a bait-and-switch scheme. At least this PTS cycle they seem to be pre-nerfing mythics before they hit live though, so that's prudent.

Story and lorewise, the last 3 years have been massively underwhelming overall. So we won't know how the abandonment of the year-long format will pan out until next year's chapter story at least. Hopefully it is for the better but I'm still not confident the writing and dialogue will see much improvement. The base game writing was so much more natural and immersive that it hurts to listen to what characters from recent DLC have to say these days.

The way I see it is I might buy the chapter if: 1. Chapter goes on sale, and 2. The "endless dungeon" feature later this year is any good. Those are probably the main two points.

Nope, no more money for ZoS until they fix all the garbage that U35 changed.

I will always pre-order a Chapter in which they give us more companions, and this time they are giving us a crafted set that seriously increases the usefulness of companions, so it's a win-win for me. Then in addition, the Arcanist class, which I wasn't sure about until I tried it on PTS; I'm now super excited about launch so I can play it on Live.

I originally left the game after U35 because of the trashing of Templar, but I returned a couple of months ago and have learned to live with the Templar changes- and find them tolerable now. For too long Templar was "God mode" to many players so it was long overdue for a nerf- although I do feel they did it a bit too heavy handed and some of that should be reversed. Return some of the damage that was taken from Sweeps while definitely increasing the heal, which was seriously nerfed after loss of damage AND an additional decrease of the heal.

I'm certainly not expecting them to nerf Arcanist anytime soon, due to the fact that it'll be more of a mid-tier class at launch anyway. If anything, they will probably BUFF Arcanist after launch once they see how poorly it's doing on Live compared to other existing classes. Definitely not a P2W class as some have suggested... it's weird how people come up with this when almost all the serious feedback has shown it to be fairly far below other top tier classes. Especially when you learn that it needs special gear sets just to make itself on par with other classes.

I probably get it later when it goes on a big sale. But not very interested in it. Every year I hope the next chapter/year is going to be better than they have been for some years now and that the content is going to look promising. But every year ZOS crush that hope.

Better writing in dialogue and quests? Nope! Let's continue to force our players Vestige to be a damn moron and treat our players like they are one too. Let's not get started on how they decided to write a questline about a SA victim.

Lore implementation and continuation? Lore schmore! Let's just remove House Indoril and the map is already messed up as it is, let's call this place Telvanni Peninsula, despite not being Telvanni nor a peninsula.

Arcanist is such an odd choice for a class in Elder Scrolls. It's just so niche and specific, and no contrary to what the devs says you can't see them as anything else than someone connected to Hermaeus Mora. Everything about them screams Mora.
I also loathe the appearance of the spells. So bright and flashy it causes me actual pain.

I didn't like all the Mora stuff in Skyrim's Dragonborn dlc and being forced to work with him, and I don't like a whole chapter where I've to do such again.

    The list goes on.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

I'm not buying it. I've bought every chapter since they started releasing them. Actually since Orsinium came out. However, I don't play enough anymore to justify buying it. Between the lag and the new combat choices the game just isn't the same.

Their new vision for the game doesn't think older players are valuable. The old metas of having to choose between being a tank, healer, or DPS is long gone. Now you can be all three in the new Dragonknights Online. Min max is basically punished as hybridization reigns supreme.

This is their game and they can do whatever they think is best for it. I just won't be buying their products like I used to.

ZOS is getting no more money from me, if they want to give me my old account back then I'll happily buy all the stuff I missed in the last 2 years

I got no need for a pay 2 win class only to be gutted a month later

Please explain this. There's clearly more to be said, if you are safe to say it.

I think it's against forum rules to discuss bans sadly but lets say it involved a full group crouching over me constantly so I did the same and they mass reported me

First time I haven't pre-ordered, and won't buy it if arcanist is not made more engaging/fun/functional. I have regretted pre-purchasing the last few chapters, and found much of the content of late predictable, lacklustre, and shallow. I do not like the card game, I do not like the companions, dreadsail was a poorly designed and buggy trial, the main quest was so very bad. There are simply far too many bugs in every aspect of the game to consider giving ZOS any more money. I'm a heavily invested player who is being turned off by the direction the game is going in.

I haven't preorderded it, but will probably be buying it on release for the new class. Though I'm really reluctant giving ZOS money seeing how their communication has been so lacking during this PTS cycle (and after all the fiascos in the last year and how they promised to do better... it's plain they'll just never improve).

Long-time hesitated as not very interested in Hermaeus Mora stories but finally pre-ordered it. Reason: new map and new story and lore.

I will probably buy it before release. I saw no compelling reason to pre-order a digital download months ahead. I will ignore the difficulty issue of overland/quest content and just try to enjoy the quests, lore and exploration as those are the main reason I play anyway.

I appealed to Xbox to get my money back, which didn't even get me a response. I hate the color green, Arcanist play style looks odd. It has to much going on. The voice for Hermaeus Mora & how it's used is horrible. The thought of all that green & hearing that voice...well...it's not pleasant.

I'm not buying post-Elsweyr DLCs in general, but Necrom kinda swayed me, since it covers the region and Daedric Prince I wanted to see. Nevertheless, I've got plenty of reasons to not believe that it'll offer me enjoyable experience that's worth my money, including my personal burnout on ESO and general decline of its content quality.

No. Not buying anything in ESO unless there is new weaponry involved, especially for Casters.
We had the same weapons since 2014.
    I´m soooo sick of Staffs........

    Maybe I would buy for:
    Cloaks
    A Housing-Storage (like the Craftingstorage)
    Accountwide Recipes
    Maybe.

I have 4 accounts. I bought it on one of my accounts to try out the arcanist class. Depending on how much I like the new class and the zone, I’ll probably buy it on the other accounts, but not until it goes on sale.

I like the idea of new companions, but the thought of doing the identical acquire-the-companion quest on so many alts is such a depressing thought that I might not bother. I still have lots of characters who have not yet obtained the companions we already have access to.

Once a companion has been acquired by our main, they should be available to all our alts. *Particularly* since ZOS keeps adding new companions.

So every year they say something about how they are going to do something on performance. They did stuff, that failed or made things worse in years prior. Then last year, it was a code rewrite and that never happened. This year, its that they are going to finally start rolling out the code rewrite which became hyperthreading or something else, and so far nothing.

    So no money from me.

I haven't bought it yet. Several reasons mostly related to me not being able to play the game for a few weeks soon, the other is i don't want to buy what might be an unpolished product so id rather wait for all the nerfs buffs and fixes to go through. I am not a fan of the new class, it should have been skill lines. The necro and warden were linked to Xpacs and now many of their skills simply don't fit. This will be the same later.

From what I've seen so far story-wise, I'm just not super excited about this being another one-off adventure, once again not advancing the overall plot of the three aliance war/interregnum. ESO feels very stagnating.

I wasn't really enthused by the reveal and my time on the pts cemented my feelings about it. I was looking for an expansion that would draw me back in, give me something to care about, but Necrom just seems more of the same.

Might get it at some point but Necrom is the first expansion I've not pre-ordered in years.

    Same here!

So the concensus after 3 pages of posts seems to be that eso has become dull? Well that's not something fancy graphics can fix. Clearly they need some people with writing skills?

I will have to try pts and see how arcanist plays out. I still won't buy it but I heard some interesting things in people's reports. Ty all for sharing.

I may buy it for one account when it goes on sale at a significant discount. I have dropped eso+ on all my accounts.

I'm not a fan of sexually edgy writing, and the new companions have no appeal to me.
The mythics have been nerfed to uselessness.
HA attack builds have been nerfed, (and this is part of a long term trend of nerfing every popular build).
My existing classes have been changed so that they all play pretty similarly. Why would I want a flashy green one?
    The pre-order pizza horse? Yuk.

I've been a long-term fan of the game, but the vision for this game and what I find appealing continue to diverge.
