    Stuck in combat

How the heck does being stuck in combat persist through death and respawn?

In a keep battle and want to slot a different siege weapon? Too bad, it doesn't matter how long you go without getting hit, hitting someone or healing anything, as long as people are fighting anywhere near you're never leaving combat.

The one where every so often my staff either turns into a dagger or simply won't fire at all. Solved by a logout but it does tend to happen at the worst possible moment.

Animation canceling, make it look intended since it’s part of the game now fix it so it doesn’t look like your character is having a seizure or some kind of fit.

Zones taking up to several minutes to finish loading. I could live with it if I could just talk with the NPC I'm waiting for (since the NPC's name is already showing up onscreen as though they're there). But having to wait for several minutes for the NPC to actually appear so I can finally talk to them is not fun.

Really? Maybe it's just me!! Has happened ever since I started playing the game, maybe once every few days to once a week. I go to attack and out comes a dagger instead of a staff. It will still attack like a staff most of the time, eg you'll see a fireball. Or at least I think it's doing the same thing. I've never really stuck around with it bugging out like that long enough to check the numbers.

Edit if ZOS see this: I play in first person a lot. I don't recall whether I've ever had it happen in third.

    Several minutes?

If you really mean that, then which platform and server, and where in the world are you playing from with what machine specs?

Not to his degree, but PC/NA, Texas, near Killeen, Some basic-butt gaming computer from Dell bought 7? years ago. I do know my Internet isn't great though, and partially to do with living on a hillside, partially to do with Internet provider refusing to upgrade the entire section of our town to higher speeds.

The Undaunted Quest Givers can take upwards of 2 minutes to load in after I've approached the pavilion in Wayrest. They're just invisible for 30 seconds, black silhouettes for another 30, and not until they're fully textured does the game give the prompt to talk to them. Meanwhile they're healthbar is fully loaded in when looking at their position.

Okay, "several" minutes might be a slight exaggeration, but it can definitely take a couple of minutes at times. The Undaunted pledge givers can be bad, but the two quest givers in the Hall of Justice in Vivec City seem to be the worst. This is on PC NA and PC EU, playing from Eastern USA. The ToT NPCs in St. Delyn Canton can also be very slow to materialize, but generally not as bad as the quest givers in the Hall of Justice.

When I'm in a trial and my abilities are not firing at all because my bar is locked up for some reason, and after weapon swapping several times, I can finally use abilities again. No mechanic in play causing this, I use all the trial combat addons, my bars will just grey out and be unusable for a little while. As a healer, that's awful.

Always been instant for me playing on a mid range laptop and mid range pc.
Used to happen (but not for anywhere near a couple of mins, more like 4-5 secs) when I played on Xbox One X so I'd say your hardware is the problem there.

This happened to me a couple of times tonight where my skills were greyed out for no apparent reason in a trial.

On my current hardware, it used to run great. But for the last year or so it's been taking longer and longer for zoning to occur.

Take a wayshrine, sit and stare at a loading screen for a few minutes before I zone in. Not 100% of the time, but much of the time. Walk up to the bridge connecting St. Delyn Canton to the Hall of Justice, stand on the bridge waiting for the textures to finish loading. Sometimes the Palace of Vivec is invisible except for the little waterfalls of the canal puzzle. Walk into the Mages Guild in Wayrest and sometimes the interior is invisible, such that the sky can be seen through the invisible walls and ceiling-- which actually looks pretty cool. Stand in front of an invisible NPC and wait until they apoear so I can interact with them-- and then sometimes have to wait still longer while they continue writing in their book or drinking their wine before they finally respond to my interaction nearly a minute earlier.

If it's my hardware, I'd love to know what it is. I suppose it would have to be my internet, because it doesn't matter whether I'm on my Windows desktop computer or my MacBook Air. But my internet hasn't changed in several years. And from what I read in the forums from time to time, I'm not the only one who's been experiencing these kinds of issues beginning in the last year or two. So I guess there must be a lot of other people who have the same hardware problem as me.

I am going to take a wild guess you're not using an SSD? On both my PS5 and newer gaming PC with SSD's loading to a different zone, including all player models and NPC characters quite literally takes between 4-7 seconds. Traveling by wayshrines within the same zone is instantaneous. Back when I still had a PS4 pro I'd have never guessed so many of the issues I had with the game, including exactly what you're describing, were caused by still using a mechanical HDD.
If you do have an SSD be aware they eventually begin to slow and fail after a few thousand write/erase cycyles so if you have a very old SSD (like more than 5 years) it could be reaching end of life.

I think this only happens in PvE. Mob heavy attacks me, I block, I attempt to heavy attack and get "Target is Immune" the game doesn't let me hit back with my own heavy attack right away, I have to get the immune first then heavy attack a second time for it to trigger. I hate that.

The so-called "input delay", in which you have to press a key several times for a skill to (maybe) fire once. It happens most often in PvP, especially BGs. After I die because I couldn't drink my health potion, the game tells me "you can't do that while dead". Well, jeesh, if the bloody input had worked maybe I would've been alive enough to do that (and lived for another two seconds before being killed, of course).

    Stuck in combat.

You cannot mount, change skills, or quick slots. It is annoying.

I think it is a "FEATURE" they added to keep us all from getting to one place too quickly. Almost as if it was meant to happen to help with sever lags.

If ESO cannot take the time to fix that one issue after almost a decade it just tells me that they do NOT care about it.

However, if you care about it you should keep up the relentless complaints to them.
