Is this really something new?

Isn't Necrom short for Necromancer? If so, what is this to do with an Arcanist? And aren't we all..."capable of destructive, restorative, or defensive magic". In other words is this really something new? or just a mish-mash.

    Necrom is a location.

I suppose technically necrom could be short for necromancer, since it's part of the word. But I've always seen people shorten it to necro. Or just cro when combined with other things, like magcro or stamcro.

But it is one of the major cities in Morrowind which is where the next chapter is going to be set. Just like all the chapters it's named after the location, not the new mechanic which in this case happens to be a class, just like Morrowind wasn't named for the Warden, Summerset wasn't named for jewellery crafting, and so on.

Also if you're really curious it's not a coincidence that a class and a location have similar names but it doesn't mean they're directly related. It's because they're both to do with death. Necro is an Anglicisation of the Greek νεκρός (nekrós) which means dead body.

So necro + mancer = (roughly) death mage. Necrom is a necropolis - a city of the dead, where the dunmer bring their dead for funerals and interment (if they're not being added to a ghost fence).

Oh while were chatting I'd like to run a different question by you. See if you can throw any light on it?
Every time I do any crafting work I get this message...

it's just that it's beginning to get a bit tedious?

Necrom was first seen in TES:Arena, although the design limitations of that game meant that we had to use our imaginations to visualize what it was "supposed" to look like based on its description. For instance, some of the cities in Valenwood are described as having features like tall towers which obviously didn't match the in-game graphical representation. Basically, all of the cities in Arena looked very similar to each other except for things like the colors of buildings such as the Mages Guild, and to some extent the vegetation.

I don't get this, more than likely you are a PC player with some add-on causing this.

That doesn't sound fun at all! Haven't encountered this problem, personally.

Since you're on PS and it can't possibly be an addon, I would suggest putting in a support ticket and/or making a separate post in the bug report section of the forum as ways of getting some help with it.

I hope you get the problem resolved - and one thing about support tickets, if you decide to go that route... the first response you get is most likely going to be automated or very generic in nature.

Make sure you keep following up until a support agent actually responds to your specific issue, lol.

I know that you can get booted from the server if you happen to input things too quickly. So, if you are very fast with your presses, the system may think you are using some kind of bot or macro and boots you for too many inputs.

I don't know if that is the issue for you, but it happens to me when I am leveling a new character's alchemy, cooking or enchanting. Just going down the list and doing all the combinations seems to be a reliable trigger.

If it is happening every time you craft, it likely is something else.

I get it then I'm learning alchemy ingredients, You do that mixing various incidences learning the effects.
You will need to craft an large number of potions for this and I always get kicked unless I take care and divide this up into minimum 3 parts. Never get it crafting gear or doing writs.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Hi TybaltKaine and Zaria

"...you can get booted from the server if you happen to input things too quickly"

Well, actually I find it so boring doing one item at a time and so I've started holding down the square button and putting in the amount for one hit. But surely that can't be the reason for being booted. Because they are providing me with the means to do this?

"I get it then I'm learning alchemy ingredients"

This is what I am doing at the moment. But it's always been the same regardless what craft I am attempting to master. But I also get booted at such times when I've needed to stop playing for a few minutes. I mean, everyone needs a loo break or such, from time to time. But I can understand that to a point, if your character isn't doing anything for a few seconds. But I've got round that by opening my inventory.

And thanks again for your support, Valenwood_vegan
