Why have a launcher at all? The steam client provides all the new features listed and more.

For example:

"Visual changes on the loading bar while patching including the following:

Display disk speed
Display network speed
All progress is displayed through a single loading bar
"

The steam client had that feature for years.

"Patching and installing is faster and more efficient "

The steam patcher/updater has been around a lot longer. Tested on thousands of games. And is faster and more efficient then the Beta Launcher. Why re-invent the wheel?

Yeah the Team version had for some time but as stated not all who play ESO got the steam version of the game at all and many still use the original one so it is a better improvement

ESO was not available on Steam till over a year after launch, so many of us here from day 1 didn't use steam, which works for me as I'm not a fan of Steam. I only use it for Skyrim replays and thats about it.
Launcher is fine.

Please do not force me into using Steam like ES Legends did, its a terrible launcher updating every time you open it with 100+mb patches every single day and that's before you even get into it. I will take the simple light weight launcher of ESO over Steam any day.

As for the new launcher, it's May 2nd in my part of the world and it doesnt seem like its available to test... maybe PTS Patch Notes needs an EDT time added.

Not trying to be a *** but why even waste resources on this when you have other things that need attention? Like the PvP rewrites, Arcanist stuff etc. We spend seconds at a time on this launcher... cool for the accessibility stuff but for me... idc about this.

Literally said “cool for the accessibility stuff.” Cool is implying that I liked those changes which is a positive statement, opposite of negative. Afterwards I said “but for me” which is pointing at myself and saying that the changes don’t do anything for me.

My frustration was pointing to the fact that this is the third week of the PTS and all we’ve gotten so far with each patch is small amounts of fixes. This is supposed to be the big money grabber for ZOS basically. Especially with the new format and I just have lost hope in this hitting Live servers smoothly. Last year releases went poorly, I thought that trend was over but idk anymore. I am glad that I did not buy this chapter for Arcanist, I just love Herma-Mora but I am starting to regret my purchase.

I apologize if what I said offends you, as I said before I think it’s great that people with challenges/accessibility issues get some love but for me… it just doesn’t do anything. I can be happy for another group of people but also admit it does nothing for me and be frustrated about it because other aspects of this update are getting less attention than they should.

It is the pts so I get it, a place for testing stuff, was just frustrated.

Agree to disagree. I know what I meant by it and while I get the objection you can’t just pick and choose parts of a statement to fit your argument.

I am not going to spend more time on this as I know what I meant and it’s okay others didn’t, that happens. The forums here are just filled with people looking to be negative and troll.

In my opinion this chapter, so far for me, is a yawn beyond Herma-Mora being involved. Arcanist is not in the greatest spot even tho some say it’s OP it is really not, MAYBE tanking is but idk. Is it good enough to do most of the game? Sure, but with only like 2 weeks left in PTS I don’t have a ton of faith that they are going to be able to address all of the feedback given.

By the way one of the things I am arguing for is about the animations of the Arcanist, specifically the very bright colors. It’s affecting people in a very bad way and needs more attention than a launcher that most of us spent 3 seconds on. So to say I don’t care about players with challenges is not the right path.

We will have to see what week 4 brings but to squeeze damage changes, redo animations/colors to make them less bright and not buggy, and maybe redo some spells for healing so it’s better in like two weeks I think is a lot to ask.

Maybe I am wrong and ZOS already finished tweaking the colors and they just needed to do some internal testing to check for bugs so that team can focus on this but without communication from them how can I know that? It just looks like they are piling on their plate and with how last year went with all the very buggy DLC’s I figured simpler is better.

People who write stuff like this are probably not the ones making zones, content or balancing stuff

This is probably more the network or engine team.

I am happy they finally going to have 4K screen support and bigger text. Cause I may be alone here but I actually use the news feed to follow ESO related stuff, Twitch drops, trials and events.

I also do combat and exploring on PC with controller, so I am happy they are making the game as accessible for all types of players.

PTS still has a lot of stuff missing. The music etc isn't implemented either.

It is one less patch delivery channel that they have to support.

Consider that the launcher/patcher may be a product that ZOS has purchased, leased, or borrowed from another company and that this "beta" represents a major version update in that product. They may already be doing what you have suggested and the only people involved with this update may be DevOps/Live Services teams that have nothing to do with game development.
