Remove portal cooldown (Arcanist)!

The Arcanist portal is not working on some occasions, however I believe they will fix this until the official launch, but one thing I love about ESO, is that there are no cooldowns, and the portal has a cooldown, I would suggest that remove this cooldown time, and make sure that when recasting, the arcanist's existing portals disappear in the process, to make way for the new ones, and prevent several portals from remaining around the world... on flat terrain it works perfectly, but it's a shame not being able to spawn like the sorcerer's ''teleport''...

I was glad to see that there's a cooldown as that separates it from streak. It should not be a better streak. Portals also take a lot of energy to create so it adds to immersion as well.

It's a ''worsened'' Streak (bit ''better'' because of distance), it doesn't deal damage, it doesn't stun, it's just a portal, in some situations it's useless, for example in PvP, there are people who would easily reach the target, even sorcerers spamming streak get caught by other players with high speed of movement, maybe there is a circumstantial use in trials with the synergy morph, I think it's a passable skill, maybe good for exploration, I can't imagine useful situations, if anyone has it, I'd like to read it, and is a first skill that have a cowndown, is strange to see on game...

Edit: If the portal reaches really high places, this would be very useful, and a differential for a teleport skill with cooldown (which is not happening on the PTS, and I hope it changes until live)!

they do actually have precedent for skills on cooldown

blastbones has always had a cooldown/lockout until the existing blastbones is dead

skills are also put on cooldown when they get interrupted

is 7 seconds too long? probably, it should just have a ramping cost to recast early like every other instant movement such as streak or the new mist form

I'm very disappointed by it. I was expecting a really crazy range like 30m at least, and it being able to be placed on top of roofs, etc. Currently it's just... odd. The hard cooldown already makes it pretty bad in pvp, never mind the fact it only gets you slightly further than streak or mist form but with none of the other benefits, but people using those abilities can continue to use them while you're just left watching.

I think the cooldown should just go and it have ramping costs as precedented. And since the class is focused on damage shields I think using the portal should grant you a small one, but have this portion of the ability be on cooldown. It would synergy with chakram of dynstasy and give more defensive power to the class, though it still severely lacks on offense.

Only thing that needs changing is the range in my opinion. The cooldown makes sense for what you're able to do with it and doesn't feel out of place in ESO as someone else pointed out, we already have some skills with lock out periods.

It feels kind of like Streak and Shadow Image had a baby. It manages to still feel unique and the 7 seconds flies by before you know it. I can already see the potential this has for baitng people off ledges for Cyro and maps in BGs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but teleporting doesn't interupt your GCD casts so for 7 seconds you can pop back and forth for no cost while you continue to use other abilities while having easy 100% major expedition uptime. Your oponent can gap close or run, but both interactions require resources and GCD's that you get to spend on core damage skills that fit within this mid range type of combat scenario.

Agree but against ranged classes it's kind of useless, I think that the skill having a longer range, and having the possibility of reaching high/low places without problems, that would be a differential, which would open space for many interesting circumstantial tricks and strategies, the 7 second cooldown prevents repositioning, currently in certain terrains sometimes only a single portal appears with no destination, or the portal does not come out "invalid location" as an error, and if portal take a bug like only one portal appears, u need to wait 7 seconds to try again, and again i hope this bugs get fixed...

I've been thinking, it would be funny, the destination portal has the possibility of teleporting the enemy, it would be interesting to use the skill with "charm" on the enemy and make him enter the destination portal, teleporting him to the first portal making him go away from you... but in practice it must be terrible lol

Edit: (Hope "charm" skill work on players, because i can see ppl falling of keeps in cyrodiil lol)

The charm does work on players, but in practice it really only causes you to face the direction of the caster for a moment.

When I saw the portal and other arcanist skills, I thought that the portal would work not only to teleport the player, but also to teleport the arcanist's skills. For example, if you press the tentacles and direct them to the portal, then the tentacles will appear on the other side of the portal, thereby indirectly increasing the range of the tentacles. The same could be done with a beam. To be honest, that was my first thought when I saw the portal and the arcanist skills but the way we see the portal is crap. I don't even know why it's needed. Vampire Mist is a more effective skill.

The Fleet-Fooded Gate morph should have no cooldown, a cost increase if spammed like streak and when u recast it removes the previous portals
