PTS crashes to desktop on loading

I tried a full PTS game repair and it's still happening; can't even get to the character select. I can't change any addons if they're causing it, because I can't even get to the screen where I can activate/deactivate addons. Anyone dealing with this? Anyone find a fix?

I have been dealing with this too. I have tried repair on the launcher. I have no addons for pts. I even shut down addon stuff for like trading and housing. I have tried running as admin. There are no files in SavedVariables. I have restarted my pc. I have made sure my graphics driver was updated. I submitted a ticket and got auto reply stuff that I had said I already tried.

I'm going through this as well, but I have found nothing that works for me sadly.

Edit: I got in. I had some things running in the background that I thought I turned off.

Same here. I completely removed ReShade and the Addons folder, neither of which resolved this issue. I am doing the Repair now, but I don't anticipate that doing so will fix this, since it didn't for the others.

[UPDATE] That definitely didn't work. I've done absolutely everything on the support page as recommended actions to try to resolve this (just as krystyana apparently has), with no success. I've also submitted a support ticket, but haven't received a response yet (they will almost certainly send the same automatic form response telling me to do the things I've already done *shrug*).

Well, the ESO support team are being their usual unhelpful selves, in that they told me to try doing something that I clearly stated in my original support ticket that I had already tried. So still waiting for a solution, or even a useful suggestion for a *possible* solution.

Anyone else actually get it to work after experiencing this crash issue?

I'm still dealing with it. Support did say after several messages telling me to do stuff like add ports to my router and reset my pc that they wanted to "escalate this up to one of our special teams" so maybe it's getting somewhere.

For the past few hours I've been getting lots of Login Timeouts, and when I do manage to log-in I frequently get Lost Lobby Connections from character select or when porting.

If you think the crashing is caused by add ons, which for pts means you put them there yourself, go to documents > Elder Scrolls Online > pts > AddOns and delete them

For me the "Account Settings" addon was causing a crash

Gotten kicked out three times. Encountered two chars in game that were behaving weirdly. One trying to kill me with her clenched fist while the sword was in the wrong hand, and one that wouldn't take any dmg.

When this happens to me I have to update Video drivers.. If using nVidia, use the custom option and clean install.
AMD, I haven't used in a while so others might need to chime in on that..

But this has happened to me several times over the years and reinstalling video drivers ends up fixing it for me.

One main thing here is clean install which will remove the current 3d drivers and reinstall.
But also I'm assuming you have all windows updates up to date.. At least Windows 10 22H2, all chipset drivers installed etc..
If using something like Win 10 cracked or Win 7, can't be saying it's the game lol (not saying you are just making a statement)

Also you can delete everything in this folder and it should recreate
    C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\pts
AddOnSetting.txt - holds the state of the addons (which addons are enabled etc.)
ShaderCached.cooked (stored shaders) (I delete this often when I see small hiccups, it recreates)
UserSettings.txt - User settings such as AA , resolution etc..

I've had this issue and completely redid everything including redownloading the game, I left the video drivers for last to make sure it wasn't anything else. So I'm confident in saying it's the video driver one way or another.

Customer service had me make a new user account for my pc (a new microsoft account and all) and the PTS loaded perfectly fine. I can't keep using that though.

They had me do the same thing today, and I had the same result, it worked just fine on the clean user account.

I went a step further though, and methodically checked my autostartup apps on my main user account to see if any of them were causing the problem (especially since most of them are user-specific on my system). I was able to narrow it down to a *single* app: Process Explorer (from Sysinternals).

Since the Live client still works fine even with Process Explorer running, I suspect it may be related to some new anti-cheat code embedded into the current version of the PTS client, but that's just a guess. Hopefully the devs can fix this specific use case so that they don't push this crash-to-desktop issue to the Live client in the future (that would just *** me off, because I use Process Explorer quite a lot). And while there could be multiple other apps that the new PTS client has a compatibility issue with, this is the one that's the problem on my own system.

In the meantime, I at least have a good workaround for using the PTS on my main user account on my computer. I also updated to the newest version of Process Explorer, but I haven't tried it yet to see if the newest version also causes this crash for me.

Anyway, for any of you still experiencing this crash issue: If you normally have Process Explorer running, try exiting Process Explorer and then running the game while Process Explorer is *not* running to see if that resolves it for you.

    Good luck everyone,
    Lynx

After reading this I looked through the processes that are running and noticed that I had a trainer process going on in the backround. It wasn't on and running and isn't even for ESO. (WeMod if you are curious). I closed down the process and the PTS loaded perfectly fine on my main account.

PTS still crashing in several seconds after start.
Drivers, software checked, (overlay etc. disabled). re-downloaded, repaired...etc. done. addons removed, even folder in documents was removed.
Created new user on PC, doesn't work for me.
