    Public Dungeons

Did you go into any public dungeons?

I believe I did everything in both Public Dungeons. As the achievements for the Undweave didn't track either group event or boss progress correctly I am not 100% sure I got all of the bosses but I think I did.

Public dungeons are generally balanced for two or more players of average skill and gear. Did you feel sufficiently challenged?

    Gorne:

I first did Gorne on a new low level Arcanist and I ended up running out of soul gems. I failed the group encounter and died on some of the boss fights which lead to me skipping some. I did finish the quest for the dungeon on it and the quest for the companion. The area of the public dungeon the companion was on was thankfully easier than the other side.

I went in on one of my DPS/Healer characters to do the bosses and the group event. Gorne would probably rate higher in difficulty than a portion of the games dungeons.

    Underweave:

After Gorne, I assumed that Underweave was going to be trouble for my low level Arcanist but, it wasn't really and I killed some of the bosses and did the quest stuff (I did skip the group encounter). Some of the groupings felt no different difficulty wise from some of the other quests I had been doing.

I went in one of my DPS/Healer characters to do the bosses and the group event. The group event had some challenge and had enough hp to take a bit but, the rest of it was easy compared to Gorne. Underweave overall is probably around the difficulty level of most of the game's public dungeons aside from the Group Event.

Did you go in with or without a companion?

I used a companion in both of the dungeons.

    Additional Comments:

The squirrel I think we get looks really cute.

The acorn achievement lists 40 but, below it the list is 2 x 25 is it meant to be 50 or 40?

The days I did public dungeons I got an acorn drop within the first few packs of trash and then nothing after that. Is that the intended behavior?

i would assume 50 because thats been basically the standard since the public dungeon collectible in the labyrinthian (greymoor)

high isle was the first one where instead of having 2 collectibles they just split the collectibles between the 2 dungeons

i would assume the drop chance was related to this new update:
Greatly increased the drop chance for collectible fragments found in public dungeons if it is your first fragment acquisition in that dungeon of the day.
might be why you got a drop very quickly and then saw nothing as it reverted to the "super low" rate that those normally are

Other than that, it's a very well written quest, and I loved the conversion with Naryu in Necrom's inn.

Where is she in the inn I looked for her but couldn't find her?

Also I agree should be able to know what a writ is and also decline payment.

She's on the first floor to the right inside Mourner's Solace Inn where all the Tales of Tribute tables are at. She'll be overlooking the railing if you haven't done Ashur's quest yet. If Ashur's quest was done, you can find both of them at a table there. They have 5 separate discussions with each other (exiting and reentering the inn will let you listen to all of them) and they'll remain there permanently post-main quest.

Ashur doesn't have unique dialogue in the inn (probably a bug) so he'll just repeat what he said to you right after completing his quest. Animations are also a little wonky when interacting with them while they're sitting on a chair (they'll stand up on the chair in the middle on dialogue).

Someone else has to confirm this but I don't think Naryu shows up in the inn if you haven't done her Morrowind quest + the Summerset main quest, because the conversation with her is directly related to those events.

She'll still show up at the end ceremony regardless with different dialogue. Speaking of which, I have a feeling that the conversation with her at the ceremony will not go over well with Naryu fans who waited 6 years for her return.

What does she say at the ceremony that won't go over well?

Not sure if everyone will get these lines of dialogue, but Naryu starts talking about wishing she had someone to take a bath with, and the only response available from the player is "I might be available", and her response is essentially "I'll pass, I just want something meaningless".

Personally, my issue with this is that you can only hit on her. But I can see Naryu fans taking an issue with the blunt rejection, especially because she made a certain promise to the Vestige back in the Dark Brotherhood DLC.

It also feels like this is ZOS ruling out romance with NPCs that aren't companions, but I could be misinterpreting it.

Thank you for the explanation, I really appreciate that you were willing to take the time to help me. :)

And yeah, I agree with you. I'm not the biggest Naryu fan, so being forced into saying something flirty back feels....difficult. Most of my toons would never say that. And also the rejection too...It's strange, considering all the times in the past with Naryu too.

This should've just been an Apocrypha chapter. Everything in Apocrypha is great, the Telvanni Peninsula zone is weak. You take us back to Morrowind, the province with the most unique wildlife, and don't even add a SINGLE new creature! The entire zone has no unique biomes and is just asset re-use. Not even Gorne, the island known for the most unique flora and fauna in the province, has anything different.

I would have bought this Chapter if it was just an Apocrypha zone, but its clear that splitting the zones up means only committing to making one of them good, so I don't plan on buying it. It was ok with Greymoor, because Bethesda already did that part of skyrim, but creating an all-new Telvanni Peninsula from scratch and then adding another zone at the same time was a poor decision. Only the city of Necrom holds up, but even at that, I would have much rather had a hub city in Apocrypha.

I wish it felt more unique compared to Vvardenfell but I like it well enough and the city itself is great. Really don’t like hub cites in Oblivion planes, in mainline games Daedric realms feel hostile and you’re isolated in ESO you’re going around playing nice with lesser daedra, that’s ok to an extent but when they do it a lot daedra being framed as a threat loses any meaning and weight.

Yea I meant more in the context of New Sheoth in Shivering Isles, it was a hub city, so its not impossible to have a city in Oblivion: you just had to be careful of the unpredictable residents, so it balanced out. In Deadlands I get making Fargrave the hub city as the Deadlands are the most hostile of all the planes. That being said, every plane has varying degrees of hostility, and eso Apocrypha has the friendly Ciphers living together for example. I like Necrom (the city), but at the cost of a boring zone to go with it, I'd rather they just make it all an Apocrypha zone.

To be honest I'm a Naryu shipper so it doesn't actually bother me, but I think it'd be nice to add some variety for people who don't like having to flirt. I know some people had issues with Jakarn being very flirty in High Isle. But yeah you can just exit out of the convo for this one so it shouldn't be a big deal.

It's how I interpret it too but considering it took 6 years for Naryu to show up again, it'd a bit of a bummer we're not getting too much relationship development here. Still, very satisfied with how the conversation about Veya was handled.

Also I didn't catch a single hint for the next location. I didn't do all of the side quests before completing the main quest so maybe I missed something.

      Quests
    • Did you engage with the Main Story? Yup, I cleared the whole thing.
    • Did you find it easy to get the Main Story quests? After finishing the prologue quest, I just walked into the zone, which was awesome.
    • If you’ve already played through the Necrom Prologue Quest, did that and the main quest feel connected? It was definitely connected, as a certain act in the prologue is mentioned a few times as a significant plot point.
    • Did you engage with any quests outside of the main story? If so, which ones? All of them, with exception of the trial of course. Need to make sure the end of zone party is as big as possible.
    • Did you find any quests to be problematic from either a directional or difficulty standpoint? Nope, all the quests are of reasonable difficulty in relation to what is expected from a zone. Of course, I'm referring to regular quests and not dailies like Bastion Nymic.
    • Did you complete any quests with a Companion? If so, how was the experience overall? I completed the entire chapter with Mirri in tow. I love setting her interactions as frequent. The new companions seem interesting, and I cleared their initial quest, but I did not utilize them outside of their questline.

      World Bosses
    • Did you fight any world bosses? If so, which ones? All of them. Very fun mechanics.
    • Were any of them too easy or too hard? No world boss was too easy and were DLC level difficulty. One boss in apocrypha was annoying to smack down due to their unbreakable shield mechanic while adds are up, but very reasonable for a world boss where other players are expected to join in, and it is able to be cleared solo. Only boss I didn't defeat was The Prime Cataloger... That thing terrifies me :'( . It probably is capable of being cleared solo, but so much happens on screen with the boss ranging you down and the adds swarming the field *shivers.*
    • Were mechanics clearly communicated? I feel that every encounter had mechanics that were clearly communicated on the boss, ground, or character.
    • Did you complete any world bosses with a companion? If so, how was the experience overall? I have Mirri setup as a healer. Most of the time she stays alive and doesn't get overwhelmed, while helping me out a bit with my health.
      Public Dungeons
    • Did you go into any public dungeons? I went into both of them.
    • Public dungeons are generally balanced for two or more players of average skill and gear. Did you feel sufficiently challenged? The challenge is up to par with what one might expect from a typical public dungeon.
    • Did you go in with or without a companion? Mirri was present mostly for the RP aspect of having a companion.

      Zone
    • What did you think of the Necrom environment? Surprisingly the zone was different enough that I knew I wasn't in one of the older dark elf zones, especially when you visit the city of Necrom, where the new architecture really shines A++ to the art/zone team. The duality of Apocrypha was very reminiscent of the Deadlands as the sky's color is determined by which side of the zone you are at. From a gameplay standpoint, this helps a player understand which part of the zone they are in, but it would be odd for future deadric realms to continue the theme of having two different color skies to differentiate which section you are in. The zone itself and the structures found within were absolutely amazing. A++ in bringing apocrypha to ESO. So many little things to find in the zone that have nothing to do with the main story (random NPC ghost in bed with a skeleton tsk tsk). The zoo is one of my favorite places in this zone especially with how some of the exhibits interact with the player.
    • Did you encounter any new monsters you haven't seen before? What did you think of them? I love all the new monsters, very eldritch and nightmarish.
    • Do you have any other general feedback? Summerset is my favorite chapter mostly due to my altmer bias and the overall beauty of that zone, but Necrom was a really good story and is definitely my second favorite chapter. I felt engaged from beginning to end. Also, I got to have two end of chapter parties, now who doesn't love that. I liked the main NPCs in this chapter more so than the High Isle chapter. The villains and motives were also more interesting. The Ascendant Lord was hype in trailers but was meh in implementation. Necrom also had a lot of nice callbacks to my previous adventures, one was sentimental, and one made me smirk before a fight hehe (High Isle did a great job at this as well with the alliance leaders).

    Favorite Foods and Potions

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

    Zone

What did you think of the Necrom environment?

The city itself has a unique feel from the architecture. The city's design makes it feel quite large initially but, the feeling wanes quite a bit once you get used to it. Still, the city is pretty cool.

I liked watching the Silt Striders pass Necrom and the view from Ald Isra of Vvardenfell.

Size wise the overall "Telvanni Peninsula" can feel slightly on the small side when you take the main paths on a non-upgraded mount and the feeling gets worse when you play on a full speed mount. Asset reuse seems pretty high but, I like the assets enough that it doesn't bug me much.

Apocrypha feels pretty large on a non-upgraded mount and it still feels good sized on a fully upgraded one. It felt a bit more populated with non-daedra than I expected.

I did like what happens when you go out too far from the land.

Both areas had a decent amount of stealing opportunities.

Did you encounter any new monsters you haven't seen before? What did you think of them?

I think the Night Terror's were new and they definitely came across as creepy.

I saw a Spider Matriarch that I didn't recognize the model for which looked pretty cool but, that may have been elsewhere

Do you have any other general feedback?

It seemed a little odd that the "Telvanni Peninsula" isn't the Telvanni Peninsula when it felt like the story could have fit at that location because it felt like most of the story in the area was more about the Telvanni than it was anything else. Did some Necrom related content get cut or something as it didn't really seem to be a part of many of the quests?

Looks like we've got two doors in the Telvanni Peninsula zone that lead to Deshaan and Bal Foyen, which is awesome! I find it a shame that you haven't future proofed the zone by having a road/door leading to the northern part of the peninsula, towards Firewatch and Port Telvannis. But I guess thats future ZOS' problem

I thought I found one in the top middle of the map but maybe that door leads to something else.
Oops, yeah you're right, I was looking nearer Necrom for a path, didn't realise it was right here

This NEEDS to be accounted for! @ZOS_GinaBruno
False alarm, sorry about that. It looks as though they have thought ahead this time around :)

At any rate, my main concerns about any new zone that shares a border with an existing zone is that ZOS won't connect them up with a gate. Luckily this isn't a problem for this chapter, but ever since the Reach disappointed me with no connection to Bangkorai, its going to be a constant concern of mine going forward. Until the Reach gets a gate (or two) connecting Bangkorai (and Craglorn) it will remain a concern for me
So the Dark Elves have weird alien architecture, where people live in mushroom towers and the shell of a giant crab, but the High Elves, the pinnacle of technology, the most magically advanced race in Tamriel, are still stuck in slightly pretty, fairly tall stone buildings? Not even a hint of a glass city? Are stainless glass windows really enough to claim that a city is made of glass?

Travel to Bal Foyen (might need to visit Stonefalls first) and from there you can get to the peninsula.

Question for those great did all of the quests, do Raynor and Kireth show up?

I believe I've done everything besides the companion rapport quests (I decided to skip the argonian's because I saw some screenshots from it and didn't feel it would be an enjoyable experience and I wasn't that interested in the Arcanist companion) and I did not run into those two.

      Quests

Did you engage with the Main Story?

Yeah I completed the main story.

Did you find it easy to get the Main Story quests?

Yeah, the quest starter was all over the place. Since I wanted to do most of the side quests first I heard about how fate needed me over and over.

If you’ve already played through the Necrom Prologue Quest, did that and the main quest feel connected?

I did the main quest on a new character so it doesn't really apply. (I had only done the prologue on a PTS character that has since been wiped)

Did you engage with any quests outside of the main story? If so, which ones?

I believe I did everything besides the companion quests that required rapport.

Did you find any quests to be problematic from either a directional or difficulty standpoint?

The overland quests seemed to be around normal difficulty.

Gorne Public Dungeon Quest was a bit harder than the average public dungeon quest.

The World Bosses and the Bastion Nymic were hard enough that I wouldn't consider them to be enjoyable solo content at my skill level.

Did you complete any quests with a Companion? If so, how was the experience overall?

I did most of them with a companion and it seemed fine for the most part.

So what do I if my character is gay? Also I would like it if ZOS considered that not everyone likes every popular character they write.

The daily quest Ordinators wearing vanilla Ordinator armor should be replaced with newer models (Militant and Doctrine). Please don’t use vanilla armor in new zones when there’s an updated alternative. That stuff really shows the game’s age.

Really like the mushroom icons for the Telvanni towers. Would be neat to get those in Vvardenfell for Sadrith Mora too.

I actually thought about this some more . I'm not sure if that's an exact quote you have there "I'll pass, I just want something meaningless", but that could be implying that Naryu thinks bathtime with the Vestige WOULDN'T be meaningless. In other words, she's saying in a longabout way that she likes the Vestige.

Still, yeah, it would be far better to give the player options of what to say, instead of forcing a romance between us. Like, have an alternative option dialogue that doesn't imply we have the hots for her.

Well I took a smal look onto the PTS trying to get a feel for the new (southern) Telvanni peninsular. I personally expected this to be a zone the size of Blackwood or High Isles with an addition of an Apocrypha zone the size of deadlands. So I created an arcanist to see the new zone.

      The Zone
I have to say I was shocked to find the (southern) Telvanni penisular to be a zone that makes Galen feel kind of big. Galen that felt kind of smal on it's own. The first look at the map size felt as if like something with the scaling was wrong. So I choos to walk once around the block. It was so small. It shattered my hopes for my return to Morrowind into a 1000 pices. That return to Morrowind was, at least for me, the major selling point of the chapter this year. Finding a zone that feels smaler than Galen left me in utter disbelive as to what you did the last year.

I did not go to Apocrypha. I have no Idea how big that zone is. I made no quests. But unless you want a lot of mad and dissapointed customers you might want to claryfy the focus of the new chapter in your communication with the players. Since for me this does not feel like a "return to Morrowind". I am happy I found out now and not in my first hollyday week in June when the chapter lounches. That might have ruined my Hollyday entirely.

      The new Class
As for the Arcanist, well I did not have all the skills availebel. But making a start with the first of each skill line was kind of ... well... I did not get it. Sorry. I did not feel any exitement and honestly was unsure as to what to do with them or how to play it. While i have no idea how the new class feels with the entire skillines are availebel, this kind of leaves me srcatching my head.

      Sets/Cosmetics
I'd also like to add, that I kind of missed new Dunmer sets for the Houses. I honestly expected a bonearmor in Telvanni Style as a crafting style. I have so far only seen one new style that felt way to little effort on costumisation. I hope that was simply for not having finished the rest.

      Housing
I am glad that a gold House for compleating the chapter has returned. And I like it with the few over Necrom. But why did we get a Ship that matches the last chapter now?! I honestly wanted more Telvanni houses from this chapter, as well as something in Apocrypha.
As for the furniture. Well the Necrom one feels kind of chunky. It somewhat feels to blocky and somewhat misses some of the finer more elegent style I expected from the Dunmer. As for the Telvanni, well I know we have a mushroom theme going on with them but this kind of did not hit home with me. I had perfered some furniture closer resembeling the Hlaalu & Redoran Style from the Vardenfell chapter that felt more in line with my blury memory of TES 3 Morrowind Telvanni style. Or givge us something like the one from the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim. I think you went to much mushroom for me.

      Quests
Did you engage with the Main Story?
Yes, I engaged with the Main Story after creating a new arcane character.
Did you find it easy to get the Main Story quests?
I did find it easy to get to the Main Story quests especially after using the map especially in Apocrypha. It was easier to find Main Story quests when picking up and finishing sideline quests in the same region of the map.
If you’ve already played through the Necrom Prologue Quest, did that and the main quest feel connected?
Yes I have played through the Necrom Prologue quest. I found that the Necrom Prologue Quest and the Main quest did feel connected as you learn more about the main character Leramil.
Did you engage with any quests outside of the main story? If so, which ones?
I engaged with almost all sideline quests outside the main story.
Did you find any quests to be problematic from either a directional or difficulty standpoint?
I found many of the North Apocrypha areas to be problematic with many of the enemies being unable to engage in combat. There is as well a dungeon in North Apocrypha where atleast half of the watchers have lost their texture.
Did you complete any quests with a Companion? If so, how was the experience overall?
I completed many of the Telvanni Penninsula Quests and half of the Apocrypha Quests with the new argonian companion. He is by far my favorite of the two so far. I absolutely love that he doesn't mind fishing as I do so much of it when I run into a fishing hole in zone. However he has seemed to state he developed a skill issue with either char or his dive skill over the last week or so. I think one or both of those skills of his is broken. He states "skill issue" or that he was "unprepared" for that one. I tried to take both skills off and use just one or the other but I cannot tell which is more of the issue.
I completed half of the Apocrypha Quests with the arcanist companion and he is good. Because I'm 35 I understand when he says he is older and seems to hilariously get tired more often then the other companions I have had. I think definitely some going around with him to more of his preferred areas may improve his fatigue eventually but who knows.
      World Bosses
Did you fight any world bosses? If so, which ones?
I did fight one of the level three seekers with a few other players.
Were any of them too easy or too hard?
I feel like he was very hard, his shield was about 65K. I think these characters may be too hard if you are expected to kill one every day for a daily quest.
      Were mechanics clearly communicated?
I think his mechanics were clearly communicated, but beings they seem to switch up so often who they are next to you can definitely add constant extra enemies to a fight with him that it seems almost impossible for defeat of the seeker.
Did you complete any world bosses with a companion? If so, how was the experience overall?
I have unfortunately not completed this yet.
      Public Dungeons
Did you go into any public dungeons?
Yes I went into both public dungeons.
Public dungeons are generally balanced for two or more players of average skill and gear. Did you feel sufficiently challenged?
Yes I felt sufficiently challenged. I was able to complete a few bosses in the public dungeons with other players. However I avoided extra bosses when going about the main story in these public dungeons.
Did you go in with or without a companion?
I went in the telvanni public dungeon with the argonian companion, and went in the apocrypha public dungeon with the arcanist companion.
      Zone
What did you think of the Necrom environment?
I think the Necrom environment is perfect it feels like an updated version of what many remember from Morrowind. It gives many of the same feels while looking amazing.
Did you encounter any new monsters you haven't seen before? What did you think of them?
I loved encountering the new monsters especially the lurchers and the death dealers (may that's what they are called) they remind me of characters from Harry Potter.
Do you have any other general feedback?
I really love this addition to the original game I think many new stories will be told with this new adventure that many will enjoy.

Took some screenshots of the actual dialogue at the end. Spoilers obviously: https://imgur.com/a/js1WDGz

Also, played through the main quest again on a character that only did her quest in Necrom and nowhere else, and it seems that the dialogue is the same for everyone, so it doesn't matter if you know her already or not.

Thank you so much! For both the pics and the info. I think the dialogue confirms that she likes the Vestige too much to "love em and stab em" (she seems to be heavily implying that she wants something so casual she can kill them afterwards. Or maybe that's just her making a joke...).

It's also interesting to know that she shows up no matter what too.

      At any rate, thanks again!

There is a locked border gate north of the Great Arm wayshrine, so it does seem we were originally supposed go over there in Q4 (when Shadow over Morrowind was still planned to be a year long story).
