This is probably one of the only forums I have ever come across that does not have a General Discussion Forum.

I think having one would encourage more people to post.

I don't think getting people to post on the forums is an issue. And after 4/4 it's going to get busier.

I believe that they (stupidly) used a help/support software and not a forum software for this like Get Satisfaction.

Honestly...this is one of the worst forum arrangements I have encountered in twenty years.
Lets move on: There are a range of issues that are more important:
the Issue I loath most is that the quests in the mega Server
are not build for a mega server. With potentially many tenth of thousands of players on the same server at the same time the quest system can not keep up and that is very obvious.
Case: there is a quest that requires to heal NPC's in a very limited area. With twenty-thousand people on the same quest there are just not enough NPC's to heal and the re-spawn rate is just not fast enough.
sorry ...but running about for two hours to heal 6 NPC's is just not enjoyable

another issue: Harvesting nodes respawn times are okay for a game with a few hundred players...But NOT in a game with tenth-of thousands players.

there are many more examples like this.... so, to the developers...please fix things.

    Agreed on the forums.

That's why they created the mega server, so there would be a bunch of instanced zones, so the zones would not be over populated. Given that, one has to assume that is the behavior the designers had in mind. I'm not saying I agree, but I have to assume there is nothing to fix.

I wanted to start a poll, there are no suitable forums for this topic.

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/64091/removal-of-vanity-pets

We really do need a general forums for this type of thing.

The Forums themselves aren't that bad, it's more the way they've laid the categories out that is horrible. First of all, separate the different languages into their own respective ownership categories, and children all their sub-categories into their respective major language, EN under English, DE under German and FR under French. The way this has been laid out currently is a ugly mess of a beast.

Besides that, it could really do with a General Discussions category, as it is a place where the community can just generally discuss the ins and outs, this and that, generally random stuff about the game. Right now these "I just want to talk about how something is awesome (or.. not awesome)" topics are being posted all over the place, as there is no central gathering point for the Forum users to get these discussions going.

While you're at it, add a Off-topic forum as well. Disclaimer that it's not- and/or lightly moderated, and let people have their non-game discussions on your boards too. Help breed a healthy community for your game. That is as important to do outside of your game, in the browsers on the various devices we interact with throughout the day, as it is inside it.

Without a General Discussion Forum there probably will never be a community

Just people posting when they have problems, and not getting answers, because people will only be posting their problems.

People keep posting in the Customer Support Forum with issues that really would come under the "General Discussion" heading. This appears to be because Zenimax, in their wisdom, have deemed it appropriate to present us instead with a list of alternative forums which they wish us to post in but that the community has no current interest in. Another wonderful decision by ZoS. If they wish the CS Forum to remain just that, then I suggest a General Discussion Forum is made pronto.

I would like to see two new forums
    - General Discussion.
    - Features & Ideas.

The later being used for constructive threads about game improvement for areas, as it seems right now that any constructive feedback or ideas to improve the game are being drowned out of this section my the mass of complaints and issues (issues being fine as it's what this section is actually for).

Features and Ideas also gives the chance for the community to engage with the development staff and help let you know where we want resources spent and what we feel would help improve the game.
I would really hate to see this become another game where the development staff don't engage with the community and all pump out new content and tell us what we want rather than looking at the issues being reported and putting teams on those.

Not quite, I post in several of those too, but some topics fall outside of these forums, which is why we need a General Discussion forum.

Zenimax apparently doesn't understand it's better to have too many forums than too few, on my last MMO there was a community forum, which was rarely used, but it was better to have that and General Discussion than neither.

@AlexDougherty Indeed, and had you quoted me in entirety, you can see that I suggest a General Discussion Forum is made asap.
