We know you all work very hard but this is the attitude. You dont even bother to convert the time to UTC while talking to people that live across the ocean (

7pm BST applies to this side of the ocean? It doesn’t apply to everyone but this seems like nit picking since UTC is only relevant to some as well.

    Hello everyone!

We've had to edit or remove a few non-constructive and baiting comments. Please remember that while it’s alright to disagree or even debate with each other, provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable on our forums.

We know people will not always agree and many of you will share different opinions, but please remember that being rude to your fellow community members is against our forum rules and not in the spirit of our game.

Already bracing for an extension to extended maintenance, never ending login queue till we all go to sleep and extra extended maintenance in a few days.

    No problem at all.

All the tickets, seals and trader wars pale in comparison with lagfree Cyro (hopefully) and smooth group PvE - totally worth waiting.

    Good luck & godspeed team!

UTC is much more easily understandable though. You only need to know your local time zone and UTC, not every other weird time zone on the planet and whether it's on daylight savings or not. The UK knows BST, countries around it likely know BST as well, but they'll for sure know UTC better. That was the point of making UTC a thing. Universal Coordinated Time. UTC is relevant to everyone by purpose. BST is UTC+1, I know this, but straight UTC would be better.

Hey folks, understand you all are anxious about bringing the server back online, but please remember this is a really complicated maintenance. No need to get rude toward a team that has been working on this not just since 8pm last night, but something we have been working toward for quite some time now.

And as noted in the banner, our current estimate for completing maintenance is around 2pm EDT / 7pm BST. Will let you all know if it's looking like this will be wrapped up sooner.

    Thank you for the info!

To be honest, after 8 years playing and mostly PvP Cyrodiil, I am chill because I have been waiting for this moment basically years!

will there be any compensation as we lose a whole day of the event?

ZOS said that they will give us another extra event day

Thanks for the update. Oh, and please use CET/CEST, the Brits don't even want to be in the EU anymore :) .

Agree, take UTC, add your time zone add, apply summer time if needed. am and pm also confuses Khajiit, 18:00 is much more more obvious.

It has been announced for more than a year, they delayed it a bit and they also reported it, I don't see any problem really.

We are getting new servers in order to improve performance, this is not a normal patch, they also did the same in NA, and ZOS extended maintenance back then, so it was expected to happen now as well. The only thing I want is that they don't extend it too much because I want to play like everyone else, but in my opinion it's understandable.

As long as the EU still has daylight saving, isn't it more convenient when ZOS gives us the british time?

ZOS does the GMT/BST time switch for us, and we have to add our usual +1/2/3 hours.

    2pm EDT / 6pm UTC / 7pm BST

What a weird choice in timezones.
    • UTC is Coordinated Universal Time (or Temps Universel Coordonné) and is the standardized zero.
    • EDT is Eastern Daylight Time, which is the North American east coast summer time (UTC-4).
    • BST is British Summer Time (UTC+1).

I'm going to assume that the EDT is for the handful of NA players who don't mind 200 ping, and UTC makes sense for those nerds out there who know how that relates to their timezone.

But I'm curious about British Summer Time. Only three countries (and some islands) in Europe use that timezone. Would Central European Summer Time (CEST) not be more appropriate, since the majority of Europe uses it? Also, using EU as shorthand for European is a bit oof, because EU is short for European Union, and some European countries are not part of the European Union.

It would be like using US as shorthand for the North Americas instead of NA, for instance. The proper abbreviation for Europe is EUR.

    Edit: Fixed a typo.

Don't worry, take your time... just please try to make sure we don't have multiple maintenance days in a row.

PS: I calculate everything off of UTC time.

I'm looking forward to logging in on PC EU after the servers are back up so I can get my stuff done-- but I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that we all don't rush to log in at the same time and crash the game! I'm going to wait a few hours before I try to log in, to avoid the stampede and let the players who missed out on yesterday's tickets and coffer get first crack at today's. :)

Almost done with the 'daily chores' on my main, same.

    I did not expect this.

I was expecting logging issues followed by instability and server crashes, a repeat of the PC/NA upgrade if you will.

    Glad to be proven wrong.

The standard *two letter* abbreviation for Europe (the continent, not the EU) is actually "EU", notwithstanding that those initials are shared (in English) with the European Union.

Guys I've been playing PvP Cyrodiil all night and it is amazing, no lag in really really big fights, all the two factions in one keep and all fine. The only problem I had was fps but it is my problem so in general, all perfect, very happy with the changes! Love it!
