PSA - Necrom delux collectors Ed does not grant all the rewards from Collectors packs on crown store

I probably should have checked, although I'm unsure how, but as it reads in the title, this is fyi for anyone else thinking about it.

The older collectors editions included in the Necro delux edition are the "regular" collectors editions and do no include all the goodies you get if you buy the same collectors pack bundles through the crown store.

Happy gaming.

yes. you get the fungus horse mount and pony pet now and all the rest come at the release of Necrom to the public servers depending on which version you purchased. this is how all the chapter pre orders have worked in the past.

The post is about the previous CEs, not Necrom’s own CE items.

OP, is the discrepancy because the packs in the Crown Store include the preorder bonuses?

The Crown Store CE bundles clearly state that they include all of the pre-order bonuses.
The CEs for the earlier chapters included in the Necrom CE do not include the pre-order bonuses for those chapters, and there's no reason why anyone should expect them to be included.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect that the most complete edition of a game is an actually complete one. We should be able to get a complete collection of items with a single purchase, which is what the language for the Deluxe Collection in the infographic published by ZOS suggests. I want to acknowledge that there is a note in the article description that the preorder items are not included with the CE Collection, but that note 1) is not anywhere in the infographic and 2) raises the question of why there’s no option to buy an actually complete collection with preorder and CE items altogether. The CE Collection is presented as the most complete option to buy, and while it is the *most* complete, it is not *fully* complete. Not including the preorder bonuses results in a mess of complications that makes purchasing the CE Collection edition problematic for those looking to catch up on the former chapters and their CE and preorder bonuses.

If a player wants all the content so far, they have a few options, none ideal. For example:

-In order not to have to buy anything twice, one must buy the base game, the Necrom Deluxe upgrade, the former chapters in the Crown Store (or ESO+), and then the CE+preorder packs for the former chapters in the Crown Store, spending far more for former chapters and their CE items than when they’re included in the Collection

-To be the most economical: buy the Deluxe Collection and then buy the CE+preorder packs from the Crown Store, effectively paying twice for the former chapter CE content. These packs are not prorated based on content you already own.

Why is there no option for a single complete collection? Why do players have to either pay for the CE content again if they have the CE items but want the preorder items, or pay far more for individual items to avoid double paying?

I’m not saying that people should get what isn’t promised. What I’m saying is that ZOS should stop complicating the process of catching up on missed content by offering a CE Collection that only appears to include everything on offer - until you find out otherwise, and then you have to spend crowns on things you already have bought with real money in order to get the preorder items. Double dipping shouldn’t be required. The CE Collection should be updated to be what it seems - a complete collection with all the bonuses as available in the crown store. Right now the options are very unfriendly to the consumer, and if I’d discovered I had to pay twice (or twice as much) for some things to get the preorder content, I would certainly be thinking twice about spending any more time or money on a company that monetizes like that.

Expanding on the note about the infographic above: the infographic does not include the note that the Deluxe Collection does not contain the preorder items. It should be updated with that, since the information was important enough to include in the article description. “Deluxe” is an ambiguous term that was not in use with former chapters, which had “CE” and “preorder” bonuses. It would be easy to think that “Deluxe” could include both sets of bonuses, since it is a different term than CE. It seems that ZOS assumes that everyone knows they are using Deluxe as a synonym for CE, exclusive of preorder bonuses, but that is not a fair assumption to make, especially of new players.
