Wanted to get to 18 before expansion and just have them be crafters for dailies, best way to get chromium grains. Though you burn though so many mats it's not really worth it. though mid Feb go so bored with the game haven't really touched in over a month so won't be making that goal

15 on my main account PC/NA, of which I've played probably about 10 in the last month (past crafting writs).
I have 3 characters on PC/EU that I'll be retiring with the new added login delay.
I have a second account with 4 characters on it, but 3 of those are level 3 and the 4th is only occasionally played. I'll do the jesters event on it though, given the likely scarcity of new event drops.

I almost never delete anyone. I will spend inordinate amounts of crowns making for instance all my males into females (done recently), faction changing EP into DC and AD (doing later today), changing appearance, etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseam; but the only deleting I do is name holders.... when the characters are ready to create (right now, waiting on Arcanist).

i have 10 characters on my main acct (at least 1-2 of each class, with varying builds, but only 1 build per character so each plays differently and is good at different things lol)

i have 2 characters on my 2nd acct, but 1 is only lvl 10 and i basically never use him, the other is my "afk lazy tank" build that i can basically just park in a group of enemies and they kill themselves attacking him lol (using leeching plate + shadowrend + hatchling shell with about 30k resistances passively) (i primarily use this account if i want a tank while soloing dungeons or plunder skull farming lol)

Let me see, I have 18 characters, 2 are mules, 4 under 50, 17 are level 50 in all crafts, 8 can get master writs...

I play some more than others, except for the mules... most have all 4 companions... and several have rapport to 5500 (max) on all 4 companions...

To those who have an unhealthy number of characters, you may be close to Sheogorath state. Healthy person, before doing something, has an argument with themselves about doing or not doing it. In Sheogorath state, answer is always "yes" about doing something, "no" is never the answer.
In Sheogorath state, person does not feel fatigue that is building. Brain may be very tired, but it wont show this. Forcing a very tired brain to play more is unhealthy.
I am in late thirties, i can do something difficult for 2-3 hours or something easy for 4-5 hours, then i need at least an hour of rest. Be careful about how much you play.

The reason why I have alternative characters is for world domination. I'm planning on getting more character slots in order to do so. I and my kahjiit army (my alts) will be unstoppable.

Also its fun to try out different builds, classes, and skill lines.

1 of each class as my damage dealer mains (DK Breton is current "Mainest Main", with a plan to make Arcanist Orc next proper "Mainest Main" above them all). All 7 side job as healer/tank if I wanna get quick transmute gems.

Rest are primarily healer/tank toons to farm quick transmute gems when needed.

1 (soon another) is used more than 5 others which are used more than 12 others.

18-36 Better than average
36-60 A great beginning
60-100 Ok this is getting serious
100-200 You are now able to attend Altaholic meetings
200-400 You really should be attending those meetings
400+ Please stop. Bathe and get some sun.

It's been very interesting to see how different people go about setting up and playing different toons/accts.
Up until now I only knew of two other "over the top" Altaholics. Glad to see there are a few more lurking here lol.
No matter how many toons you have or play just remember to have fun. My Mrs just gifted me a few more accts just in time for Jesters/Jubilee.

I expect that 1-2 is actually average. By the time you get to 18, you are up where supplemental oxygen is needed.

- 16 on my PC NA main account, 2700 CP. 4 are regularly played, others are mules or specs that are waiting for their patch to come

- 7 on my PC NA storage account, 800ish CP. All are logged into regularly but only 1 gets played and only during events or a quick random dungeon

- 3 on my PC EU main account, hasn’t been played in a long time, around 500 CP. Power leveled back when I cared about PTS and thought Zeni cared about tester feedback, and wanted my own characters to play on both NA and EU PTS cycles.

about how long did it take to get the rapport that low? theres a lot of easy +rapport sources but most of the -rapport is really small value lol

i used to have almost 70 characters in city of villains, but that game was much much easier to startup alts lol (and it had way way more power combinations than this game does) lol

with stuff like mount training, skill re-ranking, etc it is frankly not very alt friendly which is why i stopped at 10 characters here

Um, how long does it take you to do writs during Jubilee? It takes me a couple of hours to do my 56 (and that's with 3 computers). But you have almost 10x more. How do you do that?

I have 3 pc's as well. I did try 3 pc's but I found it distracting and pretty much pointless because you can only move one toon at a time. Well lol I can only move one at a time. During jubilee I'll always be doing writs on one and have the next acct logged in ready to go. So it's non stop. Considering it takes me less then 2.5 mins to do the writs and hand them in then logout. I don't sleep much on a good day so during jubilee I'll do 20 hours a day. My wife and kids will help out sometimes too which is awesome. Plan work around the event each year. The maths checks out which is why I only do so many accts of my 55 for jubilee. I keep using all the intricates i get to make and lvl more accts but I don't add them to my total tally.
So I actually have no idea how many toons I really have between storage/ crafters and combat.

18 character max = 25 accounts!
All with ESO Plus?

During Jubilee and the 2 months beyond all accts are on ESO+ . To collect surveys and clean up.
I have 8 accts as well as my main on ESO+ all year for writs and achievements.
My next years focus will be to build up similar numbers on EU. But it did take me many years to get to my current numbers.

Big shoutout to my family and my mate for all the help getting my "crafting army" to where they are now.

Hmm. Crafting is.... easy XP. I hate combat in this game, and every quest line requires combat I do NOT want to do. So yeah.... crafting it is.

When I started ESO I loved the crafting system and seeing as I work as a tradesman in real life it just seemed to suit me well.
In fact before the abortion which is AWA came along I was working on my 43rd Grand master crafter.
I also love the fact I can craft or alter my own gear OR make some for other folks.
Income wise it's a constant and reliable source.
The only real XP comes from handing in masterwrits. Doing daily writs nets you a small amount per toon but over the years it adds up.
Those are the reasons I continue to do daily writs and create even more crafters lol.
