I know i'm going to catch flak here and anyone who has seen me/followed me on the beta forums knows I have always given ZoS the benefit of the doubt and have supported them for most of the way. There are things I dont like about this game but for the most part it is what I wanted and have been waiting for and I am so happy to see it is finally released. I want to congratulate you on what is easily the most stable release (as far as server stability) that I have ever seen in an MMO launch. That coupled with the new megaserver tech is nothing short of a feat. Kudos for that. That said I have something to say....

I know you are aware of all these bugged quests.. but come on.. Up until the very last beta I was telling people you guys would have these fixed - now here I am in pre-release with a fist full of quests that I can not complete. At least reset the servers to fix them for now. Please please for all that is holy and ensuring this game doesn't make it to the free to play graveyard make sure that these are fixed before actual release. It is pretty common to have bugs and issues on pre-release, I get that this isn't my first rodio I've been on the mmo scene since many of your users were just getting out of diapers, however, these need to be dealt with and I know you are working hard on them but feeding the community some information on the process would help ease tension. I want nothing more than for this game to be successful and something I can sub to for years to come and while you pretty much have this fan girl I am concerned that you may turn away a lot of paying customers on release day if they hit these road blocks and I don't want to have to deal with another free to play conversion.

I know you guys are working hard on this and I have all confidence it will be fixed in a timely manner, just please, a little communication/updates would go such a long way :)

Thank you! <3 ZoS

Try logging out and in or using /camp.

Sometimes switching instances will fix your problem.

If you're in a group, you'll need to drop it. Once you find a "channel" (instance/phase) where the quest is working, have your group mate "travel to player" and they'll join your same instance.

ZoS please reset the servers the amount of brick wall quests are astounding and people in my guild are severely under leveled for where they are. This is a serious issue.

I've done every quest to level 12 I've come across and the only one that was bugged for me was Balreth. I found a workaround for that and have had zero other issues other than the occasional dismount. Not sure what everyone is griping about. Either I'm extremely lucky, or people are imagining bugs.

Hoping of course that bugs and phasing issues gets fixed or at least get better.

Here we go again with the 'this is only beta, they will be fixed in the final release' 'and this is very old build the final release will be fine' and what was the reality.

This I tried to say in few posts on older forums that the last beta was about the same as the final release will be minus maybe few small things. Same thing has been with other games also, yet people doesn't learn or tries to convince themselves that this time will be different.

The main issues seem to be from people grouping. Bit of a bugger that this should cause such problems in an MMO. As I'm playing solo for now, I've not had any problems with quests so far.

There aren't a lot of quests that do this, but there are story quests in each alliance that are blocking progress.
Off the top of my head for EP I can think of Restoring the Guardians, where you either cannot summon one or both of the daedra, and if you get those two you are lucky to get Balreth's essence (have to kill him in just the right spot or it doesn't work). There's a number of other issues associated with that questline, such as grouping.
There is the one where you need to heal peasants, I had to relog about 5 times before peasants started showing up who could be healed, each time before that they were all standing and couldn't be interacted with.
DC has the graveyard quest in the second island (kill the three guys, but they don't spawn most of the time).

People are definitely not imaging bugs. They are sporadic, occurring on one server but not the next, or breaking for an hour or two and then working just fine until someone breaks it again.

I'm not sure this is bugged. When they are standing, it is likely that it's just because someone got there a bit ahead of you. If there are a number of people in the area (doesn't have to be that many), then you can struggle to find suitable peasants. One of few criticisms I have of the game so far is that often interactables for quests take a very long time to reset when another player has used them for their quest (especially when those interactables are NPCs).

What I'm saying is that although some quests perhaps are bugged (a few would be expected), you shouldn't confuse a quest that is maybe not scripted as well as it could be with one that is genuinely bugged.

Well I spent literally half the day trying to fix bugged quests. That isn't fun. This game has the potential to be a juggernaut and i don't want to see that wasted for this. I'm a fan girl and I'm having a hard time playing this game. Instead of spending countless hours enjoying the game I'm having to walk away out of frustration. I want to get lost in the story and that just can't happen when i'm relogging over and over again (which for the main quests still isn't working) Feels like ebonheart is completely borked and I already have one of my friends demanding a refund because literally almost every quest he gets ha been bugged (though i told him it may be a bit soon to be getting that hot over it). The launch has been spectacular i dont think anyone would fault them for resetting the servers to try to fix the quests at least for a little while, I've seen them do it in beta.

I feel the same. This game has such huge potential and playing it the first day was awesome but then on Day 2 after dealing with bugged Quests for hours the fun is suddenly fading and that is sad. I love this game and want it to be a success.

What also bothers me is that there is no official statement from ZoS regarding the situation. Last thing I read regarding the Bugs we are talking about was in the reddit AMA ...
We found the underlying problem that caused that series of bugs (similar problems across a wide variety of quests) that made the last beta frustrating for players and those fixes will show up on PTS on Monday and will be live for early access. We're pretty sure we found all of them, but we will remain vigilant and will fix anything else that may crop up.

So my hope is that they really remain vigilant ...

Yeah I'm starting to get really concerned about that... Makes me wonder if they even have a solution. I have been on the defending end of this game for a year now and beta tested for a year I remember /buging these quests literally 20+ times. I am really really worried. The 3 day early access just hit and I thought "surely they would reset the server or patch something in before that" but no. I'm starting to sweat. This game has MORE than enough potential to be a juggernaut and even a simple "hey guys we thought we had this squashed but were working on a fix" would be enough to ease my mind.

Its the silence I find absolutely unacceptable and honestly very out of place from what we have seen of zos so far. THAT is what is scary.

That is a great point, thank you for bringing that up. There are a lot more quests that take too long to respawn than there are bugged quests.

Don't worry we didn't believe that all the quests bugs would be fixed, and I am sure many more await in the post 15 area that hasn't had millions of testers tromping through it.

The early access launch though has been unexpectedly smooth, it will be astounding if it goes this smoothly on the actual launch day.

Hey folks! We appreciate your concern, and the team has been hard at work fixing issues with some of the quests. We hope to have a fix out for you soon. In the meantime, if you run across something that doesn't appear to be working correctly, please submit a /bug in-game so we're aware. Thanks!

People do not come to forums to post about "imagined bugs". They would rather be in the game and playing and finishing quests (especially quests that were reported as broken/bugged in the *exact* same way for the past 2 or 3 beta weekends).

There aren't any "imagined bugs" mentioned here. There are a fair number of quests that the spawns are bugged on, I've ran into several myself, and it's an issue that blocks progression through the game. These were being reported just a few hours after launch, so a hotfix or server reset probably should have been performed already. There's also quite a few people having logging in and zoning issue timing out during transitions with "An Unknown Error Occurred" and then having to wait 5-10 minutes to get back in game just to try transitioning again. That one is annoying and happens me to at least 80% of my zoning attempts. I've tried for over an hour before to transition from Bethnikh to the Daggerfall starting zone on the quest out of Betnikh before I gave up and rage quit for a few hours!

The launch has been relatively smooth, and bugs like these are to be expected, but so is a swift response from ESO Staff and Support, and so far other than acknowledging that problems like this exist, all they've done is recommend you login and logout or change your resolution settings, and these workarounds can take hours to work. I'd like to see a little more critical response from ESO staff. Most support companies run on analytics, (disposition rates, average handle times, average time between tickets, etc) and at the moment, I'd hate to see ZSO's.

Well my first day on Summerset Island (Aurindon? Can't ever remember how it's spelled) was bugless, completely wonderful.

The next day at level 15 I moved on to Grahtwood and ran into at least 3 bugged quests. #1 Unsafe Haven where you must eavesdrop or steal the notes from the people's bodies. Stacks of people waiting on the boat for HOURS and still no spawn. Brick wall.

#2 The Argonian refugee situation where you need to talk to the three leaders (Scars Never Fade). Speak with 2 leaders no problem. Third leader wants me to duel a "hunter"....no hunter ever spawns? Wander around, maybe it's an NPC to talk to? NOPE. Just bugged, no spawn.

#3 Quest in a cave: Found a dead mercenary with a note about an Orc who is wanted for all kinds of misdeeds. Wander through the entire cave to get to the end to find.....a group of people waiting at his spawn and he doesn't show up for 15 mins. Bugged. Unfinishable.

Everything was going so smoothly and then it was just this disruptive, immersion breaking cesspool of half finished quests.

A server reset would probably temporarily fix a lot of the bugged quest, but a good number of these quests were bug reported in the final beta... it's just a lackluster sign that they are still bugged.

I'm going to get so much hate for this, but I think they ought to take a leaf out of Blizzard's book and do 8 hour scheduled maintenance every Tuesday to smooth out the bugs, etc...

It makes people irrationally angry for -shrugs- "reasons", but it SEVERELY improves the games health.

I think that's part of Blizzard's success with WoW. Weekly doctor's checkups on the game to make sure everything is running okay.

No hate here, but there are better ways to do it. Look at GW2's model where they can hotfix the client, and then just notify you that you'll need to logout within the next 5 minutes to update. I much prefer that model over a large block of scheduled maintenance every week.

Seems like they took my advice. I will admit that Blizzard lately (Since I quit at least) only had 1 full on maintenance day that I can remember.

They transitioned into MOSTLY rolling restarts which take approximately 15 minutes. Either which way, I think rolling restarts or weekly maintenance, while inconvenient to some, is ultimately for the better health of the game.

That's my 2 cents, but it really will make all the difference in my opinion. You get more if you sacrifice for it.

Then indeed - you are very lucky. I haven't run across many bugs as compared to others. However, I did have issues trying to contain Balreth's spirit. After about the 4th time trying it - this time with another player - it finally worked.

Seems there are a lot of people who see a lot of potential in this game - as do I - and I just hope they fix a lot of these issues before launch. Hopefully this game will get rid of the "WoW stigma" generally associated with MMOs. Because of WoW, a lot of players don't seem to take the genre very seriously, which is a shame because I feel MMOs are some of the most immersive and multi-player friendly games out there.

Most of these quests get bugged because of impatient speedsters who have to click everything around them to mindlessly progress. Anywhere you have a bunch of these knuckleheads you can guarantee they are bugging the quests
