I'll hide on some and not on others, depends entirely on the gear they're wearing. For instance, I use Sunspire Light a lot, and I love the shoulders on that, so those will stay.

Not sure what "main or alt" has to do with it....

    Depends on the costume.

I have some that need to get the 'hide shoulders' treatment right away. Others I need to keep the giant pauldrons.

I do hope this means that 'hide other parts' is coming as well, because I've got some that could really use a 'hide belts' too...

Most of my characters have perfect outfits which I am not going to mess with, so only new outfits(slots) and new characters will maybe hide their shoulders. Depending on what I can come up with, but it does open up many new outfitting options.

I will hide shoulders gear in all my characters
I only play on one character, on which I have 10/10 outfit slots unlocked. Only 1 of those 10 has an outfit I would like to keep the shoulders on. The others have minimalist shoulders (like Light Mercenary) to compensate for ZOS not giving us a hide shoulder option.

With the release of a proper shoulder hiding ability, those 9 outfits will absolutely have theirs hidden. Can't wait for the next update.

it will be nice to have the option for when I randomize styles, same with the hide-your-helm feature. On some looks it works, on others it doesn't.

Now if they could just realize this for companions (and maybe let us use helms on them) that would be just dandy.

Frankly, although I approve of this system it's come far too late to really have huge impact for me :pensive:

I needed/wanted this about 4/5 years ago once I started playing more regularly and in turn was outfitting my alts. Since then I've favoured costumes or have found looks that encorporated motifs that had less intrusive or thematically inclusive shoulders. I'll definitely buy it but whether I use it or not I'm undecided atm, likely I'll find a use for it on someone and possibly once I make my Arcanists and try to find their signature looks.

At this point a true addition to the outfitting system I would have fist pumped for, would have been a full system to hide any piece of armour, along with a more mundane motif package that allowed us to use all the "stolen" and more commonplace NPC styles for our guys/gals.

I've never been a fan of over the top WoW inspired shoulder armor, and wished for more small and petite options, like arm bands for example. I will gladly hide all of mine unless something comes out that I like. Now if only we had more sleeveless body pieces so my tanks can show off their mooscles.

Technically tomorrow, but it won't be available to buy until we have the next event, which will be the Jester's Festival. Considering the timing (and the fact that the festival won't be able to run until after the patch, which consoles don't get until the 28th), it's likely the event will start on the 30th.

Probably just my sorcerer, but I can never work out a good look for him, epaulets or not. My main, like most of my alts, wears medium armor, and I think that arm cops generally look fine.

I have multiple characters with multiple looks. I will hide the shoulders where appropriate for the look I am trying to achieve for that particular design.

Couldn't agree more. I'm glad that more recent motifs have more realistic-looking shoulder armours. Unfortunately we occasionally still have massive blocks of metal resting on peoples' shoulders and eliminating their peripheral vision, which I always cringe at whenever I see.

I'll likely be hiding it going forward on most new looks but, I may not spend the gold to do it immediately on the existing characters as I designed them with shoulders I didn't mind much that fit with the rest of their outfit. I looked at a few on the PTS and I think they look better with than without.

Depends. I've been spoiled by less limiting and more convenient outfitting system. Most if not all of my chars likely keep wearing bath towel + hat, some other costume or skeleton polymotph at least as long they are in crafting duty. I'm missing funtionality like hiding any and all armour slots and ability to add skin of any bound armour or clothing item and weapon in outfit styles...

Most probably on none, don't recall one having something that doesn't really fits unlike some belts, even "unseen" ones like light orc1, db med etc.

Don't need to to hide them. I looked long and hard for a decent looking armor, minimal tassets and a collar set of epaulets. Assassins League Armor fits the bill now for 2 years.

Character by character basis. My main character is using a combination that gives him 4 colors over the usual 3, that 4th color option is red ropes on multiple slots and then work around that. The shoulders have it too, so I'm not getting rid of it.

If they actually work with the intended outfit then no, they can stay visible.

But yeah 99% they'll all be hidden.

I will hide shoulders gear in my main and some alts
I probably should have picked other. It will depend on the character and the rest of the outfit, whether I think it looks best with or without shoulders. It's largely a coincidence that my main is one I'll almost always hide them on. It's because she's a skinny khajiit (meaning most shoulders look over-sized on her) and she would prefer her arms unrestricted and fewer unnecessary pieces to get caught on things, plus she relies mainly on evading blows rather than absorbing them so less armour is better. Not just because she's my main character.

Based on the times when I've thought the shoulders actually worked as part of the outfit vs times I was just trying to find something minimal enough that I could live with it because it didn't look too out of place or absurd (plus experience in other games which have had this option for years) I'll mainly use them on heavy armour, occasionally use the smaller/flatter ones on light armour and almost never on medium.

I will not hide shoulders gear in any of my characters
I like shoulder pieces as they give more of a silhouette that matches my style, but I'm glad hide shoulders is an option now. Finally, people can truly be shoulderless rather than having random armor plates that look out of place. I'd love for the option to be extended to belts too, as that's where my problems lie. But excited to see shoulder armor-less people around Tamriel!
