I love Maormer fish scales but scales of akatosh face markings have always bothered me greatly. Getting a straight-up recolor as an event reward is unacceptable. At least change the leaves to flowers or something.

But on both of those scale skins, they are in patches, and not following an anatomically logical pattern like Argonian scales. I have no idea why a Maormer skin would even have scales — they are Mer and even mammals who have fully returned to the sea (whales, dolphins) don’t have scales. And then in patches, it can only be a disease. I would have liked to have a nice Maormer skin and the Scales of Akatosh would have been cool for Argonians if it was either gold all over or made some kind of visual sense — as is the scales look like some kind of leggings and sleeves!
For scale skins, I think the Dead-Water Scale looks good and for event skins, the Deadlands Scorcher. I’ve seen people create some cool Daedric characters with the latter!
As for this one, it should probably be categorized as a body marking rather than skin, and like the Viridian Valor shown above, looks rather kitsch. Something more stylized and less garish would be better or, if truly making a skin, should be something else entirely, maybe in the style of the pet, giving the character a shimmering green aura about them or something. Not subtle, but the skins never are, and at least it would be different and keeping with the theme.

The Maormer fish skin isn’t actually for Maormer, though many people (including me) add scales to Maormer because it’s cool. The skin is used purely on Leviathans in terms of NPCs… the scales are byproducts of their Sea Serpent heritage. The anatomy for the fish scales makes sense to me as well (the scales continue on the back, it’s not patchy). You have the right to your opinion though. The anatomy for the Akatosh scales is in fact weird. Just the face part bothers me the most.
I like body marking skins since you can layer body markings and hide vampirism while still looking normal, which is why a skin without facial markings would be awesome. I think a glowing lotus theme like the pet as you mentioned would’ve been a lovely idea.
