What do you do when walking / running / riding toward another character?
i never really thought about it, but i definitely dont really pay attention, if im just running around by myself, i tend to do my best to almost ignore the people around me
i probably take more care to avoid the NPCs and enemies than i do other players lol
i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them
Whenever possible I go around them and any pets.
For me oddly it feels rude not to?
Kinda like running through someone like they don't exist. The dismissiveness of it.
I also don't like running up to a trader\banker\quest giver, etc if there are others there and standing between them and the NPC. I always try to stand off to the side in my own space so I'm not crowding in front or on top of others.
I know there will be times when it's just not possible. In those cases it doesn't bother me, but if I have the choice I always try to stay in my own space.
Just a weird hang-up of mine.
"Some enjoy bringing grief to others. They remind M'aiq of mudcrabs - horrible creatures, with no redeeming qualities."
"When my time comes, I will smile. And that will be all." -Sir Nathain Galien
Only time I intentionally go through is people duelling in the middle of a busy city. Sometimes I'll even stop in the middle of them because it annoys me.
Generally, I avoid the person, however with 2 exceptions (I then intentionally run over instead):
- When one stands in middle of a tight passage and/or door.
- When one has followers at a service. From time to time, I even stand on him/her They probably don't care at all, but it's a good feeling for self.

I tend to go around people and dismount in crowded areas rather than ride through them, but only when there's nothing going on. During events or on the way to dark anchors and stuff I don't worry about it.
I go right through them most of the time. Sometimes I move out the way especially if we're running side by side
I like to do a little side to side swerve as a hello too. Like a d a d a d (left right left right left right)
Maybe stop and do a circle before riding off to my destination
Also: I like to, as I'm opening a door, move my character back away from the door before it loads me to the other side. Just a tap on s after clicking e on the door, don't hold too long, and it won't cancel the door load.
I try to swerve past them (or jump over, if on a mount--though I find that ruder for some reason ), unless I see them at the last moment and my reflexes fail me, or momentum carries me.
