Pretty wild that they bothered to adjust backlash, which is a completely dead skill. And @ZOS_GinaBruno please tell me what dark flare is for, defile is worthless in PvE and empower is worthless in PvP why does this skill have that ingenious combo?

I still love my Templar. The animation change, I don’t care for. But magicka Templars are easy-mode for PvE and I love it.

Hell not just PvP, Templar is crud everywhere, and Stamplar is even worse off, all they literally had from the class was jabs and Power of the Light, those were basically deleted so we waited, and waited, and waited, and now we are met with notes that might as well read

And this new set "Snake in the Stars" will make living dark useless. Warden and nightblade still over powered. Devs only play warden or nightblade or they don't play PvP? DK will get a huge buff with the new dot proc set

Stamplar has almost always been crud. Only good things were the simplicity of jabs for easier rotations, and the access to cleanse in PvP. But everything a Stamplar can do, a Magplar does better. It's the least unique build out of all class / resource combos.

How long did we cry for more and better stamina morphs for Sorcerers, but Templar was always worse off. It just got carried by jabs.

So annoyed that 2 of my char slots are occupied by Stamplars, which I'm too much of a romantic to delete.
One is even a Redguard, complete meme race/class combo.

The jabs animation is garbage and the “hybridization” changes have made stamplar obsolete and the worst spec in the game.

We get reward for caring about our class for giving feedback. Maybe templars should just leave it and ignore forum tell nothing. But at the same time i would ignore game.

Pretty hilarious. Any number of easy things could have been done to appease Templars but Empowering Sweep needed 2 more ticks of damage. I'll still use the morph that does 60% more damage, thanks.

This is a straight copy and paste of morrowind when they had Templar gutted and everyone jumped onto the new warden instead. Now that plar is a shell again everyone will hop on arcanist lol
Also seeing what was done to necro, plar won’t be alone in the unusable category. Plars and cros are gonna be like mag wardens a year and a half ago

Put Major Berserk on Backlash or one of the morphs. If it's not going to do any serious burst damage, it might as well boost all damage while it lasts.

It is kind of hilariously ironic that dk, which is in a really good place for pvp currently, gets major berserk, while templar, which is in a horrible place for pvp, gets nothing.
I main templar but have considerable hours logged on sorc, dk, nb and to a lesser extent, warden.
My templars feel the weakest out of all of them.

Stamplar is in a horrible place in PVE too (guess who is a stamplar PVE main)

Im stamplar main always and right now this class feel just bad, in pve you are monster in pvp you are nothing. Ok you can make build that work but ,i can't play as i want with the skill i want and weapons i want. Im forced to make 4 offensive sets to do atleast acceptable damage .If i put similiar item build on DK or Warden i become monster on templar you are pure sh.. only.

May I remind everyone how utterly dominating Templars were in U34? BubblePlar was rocking PvP. And one could easily get a vet Maelstrom or vet Vateshran run with one ability used!
Sweeps, Sweeps, Sweeps. All day long.
That had to change.

Templars have always suffered from a range of useless/niche class abilities, rather than from lacking overall power. That is what should change.

They still have the strongest execute in game. They still have the best spammable for Solo PvE and the best class sourced HoTs. Not bad. Just not outstanding, anymore.

Although, ever since the full rollout of Hybridization StamPlar doesn't exist anymore. With what? Three usable Stamina morphs on the class before that? And afterwards having no incentive to stack Stamina or Weapon Damage at all?

You are talking about one skill, Living Dark. And that was the only thing carrying Templar in pvp. Only that. And when that was fairly nerfed, a lot of other things were unfairly further nerfed, which didn't need to be.

One could easily get vet Mael or Vate on multiple toons. Puncturing Sweeps, while a great skill, is not a carry skill. It requires you to be within melee range, spamming it as much as you can in order to keep the heals coming in that sustain you. Other classes also have heals and those using range could avoid a ton of damage by staying range.

You’re talking about one skill which had too good of spell power scaling (which I made a thread about on the ptr and no one listened) Living dark.

Jabs was a great spammable yes, but why is that an issue? Every class has strengths. Now DKs have the best spammable AND the best dots. So how does that make sense?

Best HoTs? Maybe.. extended ritual is pretty good but then you’re giving up retribution. And I would argue necro spirit guardian is better with no area requirement and 10% added Dr. if you count crit surge that’s better too.

I agree Templar skills overall need a pass. But that’s why so many people are upset. The class is in a dire state across the board and the patch notes have nothing.
