Early Addition to PTS

Would like to discuss the idea of adding the class to the PTS a little earlier than Nekrom PTS so we could have more time to test the class and provide constructive feedback with more time to address any potential issues it would have. This also gives us time to test out set interactions in both pve/pvp and provide feedback on anything that is to far out of the norm to help provide a more balanced class launch rather than it come out to overtuned or undertuned. Thoughts?

Unless they instead want to hire hundreds of testers, id say getting hundreds of testers for free is a no brainer.

Highly doubt that's going to happen because they want the new class to be overtuned at launch. It's simple business, if there's not an OP mythic or class included in the chapter they risk losing sales to the PvP crowd who don't care about wandering around a new PvE zone.

I agree they should put it out early as their abilities could evolve to be very different from where they started and it also gets more complicated rebalancing a new class and a new companion based on that class. Get the player's perspective on how the new class plays, do the redesigns on the first PTS and balances on the second PTS. That say you're not also changing how the new Arcanist companion abilities work at the same time while changing how the actual class plays.

difference between paid and free. A free tester would barely give any feedback or actually test anything at all. Most pts players just test stuff and builds "for free" to know what's best to use on live server.

I'm ok with additional weeks to test the Chapter IF its ready for PTS earlier than normal but let's get past Qtr1 testing before we worry about Qtr2 testing.

In terms of feedback It would made zero difference to add class alone few weeks before adding rest of the chapter to the PTS.

We would have no acces to new sets which could potentially make a difference. We would have no acces to base game balance changes which could potentially make a big difference. We would have no acces to new trial so testing would be incomplete and would have massive lack of context. We would just be able to test how arcanist that will be released in update 38 would work in update 37 which brings nothing to the table.

PTS also lacks population to test certain aspect of combat and for example no matter how many additional weeks we would get we wouldn't be able to test arcanist in BGs or Cyrodill because these activities have close to none participation on PTS.

What could be done is actually making some PTS event that would bring more masses to the PTS to participate in certain aspects of the game. For example they could announce few days of PvP testing where everyone who would get X amount of AP during that time period would get some nice reward on live server.
