That was my thought exactly, there would be broke builds like never before. Too complicated with the number of sets and combat mechanics already in the game.Spell crafting was never going to be a thing. People got all excited about it, and I agree it sounds amazing, but all it does it add uncontrollable nuance to a game they're already struggling to balance.

At most the spell crafting thing was going to manifest as a couple extra morphs of skills (decided by them,) that players could buy/build/find via some new antiquities feature. If you thought for a moment you were going to make your own spells do whatever you want then you were sorely mistaken.
Adding a new class is nice. A new guild would've been cool. A new weapon was my personal wish... But a new class is nice.

This is overly pessimistic and baseless.

A month ago it would've been overly pessimistic and baseless. Which is why I steered clear of the spell crafting threads-- I didn't want to break any hearts.
Today? It's your answer.

Not everything released is for everyone. You can take this threadtitle, and insert anything the person dislikes. Many are happy with a new class, like I am. Stop being so negative! A new class is always welcome.
As someone who plays through overland and dungeons on all classes, the arcanist will be one of them! And I love making new characters, so that is a plus.
PS: For those complaining about getting a new character up to speed... this is a game, relax and do it slowly bit by bit. There is no need to rush or force yourself to do all those things. Enjoy the journey.
PPS: For those wondering, I read we also get two new character slots when buying the new chapter/class.

- Mount Learning (180 days) (Or paying ZOS more money for books)
- Trait Crafting Learning (3 months) (Or paying ZOS more money for scrolls to reduce the time)
- Paying ZOS more money to buy crystal shards to get all skill points
- Paying ZOS more money to learn all old guild skill lines

Or enjoy the game as you play a new character without rushing through to some imaginary end point.
