Had a look at this costume in game. It's pretty nice, if you aren't looking at it side on. If i knew they would actually fix the issue, i'd buy it.

I previewed this on several characters of different sex and body types, and have noticed it's a bit different from other costumes and motifs that suffer from this. For one, it actually morphs the body a bit, and it's also only affects female character. All male characters are fine no matter body type, and all female characters suffer from it no matter body type.

    Can confirm. Weird.

But Zenimax has a robust and well organized QA department, so this has probably already been reviewed and approved as working as intended. I wouldn’t expect to see any changes.

I was going to say I don't understand how these mistakes keep making their way to CS items sold for real money, but then thought that if players keep buying regardless, then why would zos improve their control game... It's not just clothes, they mess up hairstyles, etc., as well. Anyway, you could try asking for a refund, though of course the best thing would be if they fixed this.

So don't be so hasty, unless you're asking for them to fix EVERYTHING.

If they go in to make corrections to this, then they need to correct ALL of the costumes that have issues.
the "Noble Dress," which turns your character into a stick figure, is just one other example; Timbercrow's extra set of granny drawers being another.

Clothing should not significantly change the shape of your character! If the outfit was fixed to conform to female bodies as it does to male (see the helpful post by @NotaDaedraWorshipper ) then it would fit both slender and more chunky characters equally well (so you could still create the look you like).

And what is the problem? [snip] If he fixes even one costume, then the community can push to fix the rest.
If I don't count the big bugs that have been there since U34 and a person really thinks about leaving the game, then the next experience from the game, when a person decides to stay in it, are just these details, like mistakes in costumes, little and sometimes badly made funriture , the impossibility of hiding flaps and shoulders and a lot of other small mistakes/bugs/glitches that can be fixed in a few minutes, if the developers would be more interested in what people are reporting about.
        Thats my opinion...

No, that Timbercrow costume looks terrible on every character I’ve seen it on, regardless of race or skintone. No costume is as bad as that one; some, like this Loungewear, make your character look extra chunky, but only Tibercrow gives your character a Frankenstein butt or diaper! :expressionless:

Ikr? If they're that worried about a little skin showing, at least just have a black undergarment or thong in place or something. Just not weird diaper. It clashes so terribly.

They've fixed crown store costumes before due to player outrage (like the Singing Bald... errr... Skald costume). But things that get even more bad publicity and angst such as Timbercrow and are only available with in game currency go ignored for years. And it can't be about skin showing, as Almalexia's costume is far more revealing and has remained unaltered for a decade.

The Timbercrow fix is a style change request. It's a matter of taste and the devs have explicitly stated they have a policy against altering any costumes for that reason.

The Skald costume was a bug fix, as the hat didn't look like the advertisement, when it was supposed to. It had the bald hat behavior instead of the hair showing hat behavior, as was advertised. They will alter cosmetics to fix bugs.

It's a bug in my (and others') opinion. Clothing doesn't fit the way the backside is drawn on Timbercrow, it defies all laws of physics and common sense. Or else it looks like Khajiit got shaved at the vet. Surely it wasn't intentional, just like it's hard to believe the billowing miniskirt look on the Loungewear on females only was intentional. And the Timbercrow can be easily fixed by simply making it dyeable. No physical changes are required.

        This is very strange bugs.

I made so many of dark fantasy costume when I used to be younger days
as game graphic designer. Basically, don't touch base player's body skin weight,
but just transfer it from player's body to the new costume model.

Just trim skin area of player's body, but not change skin weight like the picture above. :/

The Timbercrow would have been fixed by now if that wasn't an intentional stylistic choice. It looks to me like it was added to make the costume more modest. I find it pretty ugly myself, but seems pretty clear to me personally that they designed it that way on purpose. And beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all.

I will refuse to believe this is a style choice. Even less so for modesty. We have costumes and styles that show just as much skin or even less without anything like this. No gamedesigner or any designer for that matter, would look at that and think it was done on purpose. It looks like textures has gone wrong there, a bug. But because it's not a crown bought item, ZOS is likely not bothering much with it. Or ignore it for the same strange reason they don't say a word about all the million other items we have pleaded years for.

As many have said, tho, these are costumes people spend REAL world money on. There is no reason why they should be making it public until it's been TESTED and shown to work properly on all character models it was/is intended for.

It's a costume... Not rocket science. Continually putting out stuff like this, (again, this is not just one mistake, but another in a long list) is just adding more terrible PR to the game that it just doesn't need/can't afford right now.

        [snip]

The people who play this game deserve better.
