Make it quicker for 6-12 player groups to take keeps in Cyro?

    LOL.

Yeah, I used to run crown in cyrodiil back in the day. I've got a lifelong history of being overcompetitive in sports, games, and I'm ex-military as well. It was hard for me to keep my patience (that's putting it mildly.) Some people just don't get it-- and to be fair to them, some people don't want to get it. They have more fun not being bossed around.

I strongly suggest you hand select what talented and like-minded people you do have and start a regular group or perhaps even a guild for yourself.

Or even just step down as crown. I had much more fun being crowns right-hand-man than actually being crown. Was very good for my ego to hear crown say, "don't chase, don't chase, fight on ram, let OB handle it." Also good for my ego not to spend half my time HATING my teammates and the other half feeling guilty because I'm such a jerk.

Taking keeps is fast enough if max siege is placed. There're players that just don't use siege unless it belongs to someone else.

I’m a pacifist and hyper-individualist who reject anarchism because I’m opposed to all isms and prefer to be an outcast, and never enjoyed team sports (except a few months of American football before my legs got damaged) so did skateboarding instead. Started in Cyro as a NB ganker, obviously, but got hooked when introduced to 24 player raids, with Teamspeak (if I remember correctly). However, when I get addicted to something I like to do things thoroughly and rationally. In other words, IF you join a group in a team sport, then play by the rules of that game. If you can’t do that, then don’t join a group. Preferring to be rational in games a part of me find it difficult to understand why the majority of PUG members behave in a way they know is counterproductive or suboptimal if you want your team to win. Being stoic however I know (or assume) that EP attracts many rebels and anti-authoritarian individuals, who for some (“schizophrenic”) reason want to be in a group with a leader, so I have learned to accept their cognitive dissonance or whatever it is. I’m therefore very chill now, but it was a time, in 2017 I think, I was constantly yelling orders in group chat, like: stay at backflag, stay at backflag! A guy complained, and I kicked him. Had no problem back then recruiting people to my PUG, though I acted like the Soup-N.a.z.i in Seinfeld.

Should take longer so enemy has a chance to defend so a battle can actually take place or it's just pve

We had lots of large battles when 24 player groups quickly took keeps, because when defenders arrived it was quick for them to siege and retake the keep, after a large battle, rewarding both factions with lots of AP.

Sadly @subarctic I agree with some others here saying your idea might have the opposite effect. If keeps are captured too quickly defenders won't be able to arrive in time and it'll make pvdooring more frequent. But I definitely feel where you're coming from.

In the end we're all subject to the same bad timing and bad luck. Population imbalances, time of day, crappy teammates that you simultaneously want to help and "make them get right," but they turn into a liability.

These days I pretty much run solo, following the action by looking at the map as you say, trying to coax 2 or 3 enemies at a time into engaging me. You could say I've turned into one of the bad guys, because I almost never help with siege, just want to fight, and ultimately leech O ticks.

We all just do what we find fun. And I'd like to double down on my last post recommending you start your own regular group/guild of people that enjoy what you enjoy.

It was quick and easy to take keeps and retake keeps when we had 24 player groups in 2014/15 when Cyro was at its height in popularity. So why change a winning game design that was very popular? Today the game is a shadow of itself, too static and boring, many have left. (Even this discussion forum has lost many participants compared to how it was in 2015.) We need 24 player groups again. That alone will make it quicker to take keeps. With 24 people - or 16 because 8 might be AWOL - it’s easy to ninja siege, thereby taking a keep very fast. That’s how we did it when the game was most popular. Lots of large battles, very dynamic. But with 12 player groups the gates and walls must be weaker and crumble faster, or it’s just boring and long PvD, often aborted because even a relatively good guild group of 10-12 people - if they are online to begin with in Cyro - will struggle to survive when a zerg of defenders and enemy ball groups have plenty of time to arrive.

However, finding the right balance here can be tricky, since it will be unchallenging if it’s too easy to capture a keep. The best option is to simply go back to 24 player groups and upgrade the servers, but that will prb never happen…

Have no problem with solo players in Cyro. NB gankers and solo bow snipers and solo bombers contribute to the diversity of the game, making it unpredictable. But IF you decide to play in a group, then please contribute to the team work.
